I have just purchased an induction stovetop and needed to figure out what pans would be compatible with By using the magnet, I could tell from the first glance which cookware had sufficient iron to operate on the induction range. The device is also very strong, yet small. It is easy to store in a kitchen drawer, since it occupies little room. The magnet comes with a keeper as well to help it hold its magnetic field.
