My engine sometimes runs just fine, but I can't figure out the check valve. When I have taken it apart and cleaned, it still randomly runs, so I have to remove the power cord before it will work again
Yes, without a doubt. You installed a 2 x 5 installation, which has a "head" of just 3 feet, much less than the rated 15 feet There is 20 feet between the trees. It should not be an issue.
The run is quite long, but the rise is only 3 1/2', so that should not cause any problems. The pump should work fine as long as you stick with its 3/8" diameter, although I am not an expert.
The topic was well covered by Andrew Bauer. Nevertheless, you must occasionally keep the pump properly maintained rather than ignore the manufacturer's instructions otherwise, the safety switch will not operate. Due to the fact that I didn't learn about the requirement for maintenance (thanks installers), my 18 year old pump didn't stop the A/C, so I ended up with water all over. In 18 years I was trying to use the safety switch once, and it did not Make sure you schedule a maintenance appointment for your pump.

There is an intermittent problem with the new check valve, as with many others. The drained water may return to the tank in part or in full In some other instances, my check valve also works just fine. I wasn't aware that my old check valve was defective, but I threw it away It is unclear to me why Little Giant has this valve policy, as other have written about it Installation of the pump and removal of the pump for warranty is in your capabilities, but you do not have the ability to use an open-source pump Would that mean you have to return the entire assembly? Do you have to remove the dead check valve and replace it with a wrench? You can either pay for a new valve or live with random gurgles (which is what I'm doing now). If the valve is not available until winter, then I can wait until then). Their only decision was to stonewall their customers and only inspect/test the valves they sell individually to make a few extra dollars. The pump met the requirements for form, fit, and function - all 5 stars. The valve did not meet the requirement - 1 star. I rate this as 3 out of 5. I'm saying this so Make sure you save your old check valve if it works, in the case the new one fails.
We've experienced 3 of these condensate pumps failing in a span of 2 years due to a float switch simply stopping working (and consequent minor flooding before we noticed)- This brand seems to dominate the market for condensate pumps, and the pumping mechanism works great. Thirteen months after purchase, one of the pumps failed and the replacement bought was new with a non-functional float switch.
I'm not sure why it's so difficult to make a switch that will last- It would be much better to buy another brand if there was an alternative since these are low quality and pricey.
It will not be replaced by the company! 13 months ago, I bought this pump. Approximately 10 months into the switch's operation, intermittent failure began. In 13 months (and by that time there had been extensive damage from water spills), I removed the pump. Corrosion was heavy on the inside of the pump. Here are pictures you can see. The Little Giant customer service told me I was one month outside the warranty period when I contacted them. However, their decision did not change as a result of the sorry and clearly defective pump. As a result I would not recommend purchasing this product if you want it to function beyond its warranty period of 12 months. It should be returned and/or replaced upon taking possession of it if there is evidence of a switch failure or.
The condensate pump in my system failed, so I ordered this to replace it. A strange noise came from the old one (in that case). In a couple of days, the new condensate pump should be here. I've got it installed, and I've not heard any difference from the old one. However, the new one makes the same noise as the old one. However, it is in the basement and away from our main living space, so it isn't too bothersome. No overpacking was done on the new pump, and it was shipped in its original box only I ordered it, and the plastic clips holding the top cover on snapped off when I got it. This didn't seem to have any impact on the pump, so I left it as it was. If there is any other issue, I will post it later.
A fine pumping action and reasonable quietness are its hallmarks. It is known that the check valve does not function properly and is known to the manufacturer to be defective. Water drains back down from a six-foot height at approximately one inch per 15 seconds into the reservoir. In this case, the pump cycles more frequently and requires more energy because of the failure of its check valve. In response, I wrote to the manufacturer's technical support department. A representative responded that they use a floating ball in the check valve instead of a spring loaded check valve with In the article he wrote, he defined what a workable design is, so it is clear he knew it wasn't a workable design. As he said, most of the time it In light of the fact that the pump is designed to run at a distance of upwards of 20 feet and I am less than a third of that distance, this is clearly an incoherent A usable check valve will be found and the review will be updated. I find it unfortunate that this product, like so many others, is known by the manufacturer to be defective, but they still sell it. There is a good possibility that many, if no most, individuals would not notice the defect and would just pay extra for early failure. Little Giant was the last store I bought from. In the past, the product they sold was good.
Anyway, I found this unit on amazon which is a direct replacement, and bought it after about three hours of searching and reading. After hooking up the system it only took 5 minutes to fill up with tap water. I checked it a few times to make sure it worked again before leaving it alone to fill. The pump has been working for a week now and I also hooked up a dehumidifier to drain into the pump, so it is able to deal with a large HVAC unit and a big dehumidifier.
My Little Giant dehumidifier was purchased along with my Frigidaire 70 pint dehumidifier (which I highly A trip to the basement several times a day was not appealing to me. I love how this pump works! My pump is strong enough to pump up to the 8-foot ceiling in my basement laundry room, and go an additional 10 feet to the drain without a This is a great recommendation!.
On two separate furnaces, I have experienced this. Several of these have lasted for more than a dozen years and are still in use. Six years after the other one gave up the ghost. Although I have never cleaned them (this would likely make them last considerably longer), the instructions advise that you do it once a month. Their reliability seems to be justified by what they are. It pays to keep them in a tray with a water alarm so that if they die, you find out before your cellar To my mind, that was the best solution.
