Purchasing this is my second time doing so. Almost a decade went by in the 1st, although it was a bit more influential than it once was. There is one difference between the previous unit and this one, I remember the previous unit came with a power cord, mounting bracket, and rubberized plastic output cowl that this unit did not have. I totally failed to realize this and it was all my own fault. I have no complaints about the unit, as it arrived exactly as pictured. This is only to highlight that in the unlikely event that anyone else is expecting that sort of thing from me.
I have yet to start fabricating for my forge, so it has been sitting on a shelf. I would like to know This is a 3 star rating due to the question Who and why would anyone make the output 2 3/16 inches (55mm), when they say that the blower can't fit that output? Apart from that, this is a fantastic.
My 40-year-old woodstove is in need of a new blower to replace the one that no longer works. This device did not come with a power cord or switch, which is good since it can be used in a variety of ways. I wired it manually with a length of spt-coax cable and it worked well. The cable was connected to an in-line dimmer by means of two pvc cords A switch to turn on or off the line. Then I attached the flexible blower hose from my older blower In less than half an hour and with only $15 in parts from the hardware store, all of this was accomplished. Where does it come from? I am happy with how well it works. The blower is remarkably quiet for a device of this size. This unit is powerful enough to blow the heat from a wood stove all throughout a 600 square foot area. I loved the amount of square feet and the balance of temperatures in the house. But the best part was the price. Compared to similar fans from other sources, I got this one for 1/3 of the cost. This is a strongly recommended application for this type of use.
