A component of a DIY air filter for my workshop, I bought this. There is definitely a lot of air moving with this unit, and it is very easy to wire. I have attached a couple of pictures of my blower in action. My air filter is not yet done, but I'm using it nicely.
After I got my new fan, I wanted to compare it to my original 250CFM blower fan, so I grabbed my trusty anemometer and set about creating This unit turned out to measure 13% lower in efficiency than advertised, which was disappointing for me, given that I was considering a more efficient fan for my pellet stove. When I compared the two fans, I noticed that the newer one had 29 blades on the squirrel cage whereas the original one had With the 30 blade fan installed on this unit, I was able to increase its CFM output a little over what it had originally, but it's still 9% lower than its advertised output of 273.
As my old wood urn was beginning to rot, I ordered this to replace it. We received it two days after ordering it (it was 10 years old). The website said it would take several weeks to arrive, but it arrived within I am amazed at how much more efficient the woodburner is using My old blower took half the time to get the temperature up. The installation of the product was very straightforward. So, I ordered an extra one to keep on hand for when we heat exclusively with wood.
Fan of excellent quality! The stove I installed this into is an Englander pellet stove. You won't get anything greater than this with the larger one that Home Depot and Lowes sell. It will create a quieter blower AND have increased airflow. The price is reasonable considering that I did not use it for more than a half-season last year and just started it for a second season.
Having replaced an earlier wood stove, this stove is a direct replacement. It has been our experience that all of these blowers freeze up as they age. You can have filters mounted on them or no filters. You can also clean them consciously yearly. Nothing seems to elongate their lifespan from what we have observed. I immediately noticed that the new replacement ran so much quieter than the old one. Glad to see that noise reduction has been improved. We will find out in due course. I am happy with the outcome of the first season.
Having a blower like this is great. You do not need to have knowledge of electrical circuits to connect it (recognize white wire, black wire, and green wire). Please note, you will be required to purchase a grounded electrical cord, but these are available in most home improvement stores.
There is no problem with the blower. This tank is built to last. The instructions state that this is not to be used with a As far as I can tell, I've wired a speed controller anyway -- It works just.
This spray booth is for a hobby spray booth I bought and I've just tested it. Grounding was simple. As long as you use a 1/2 inch cable clamp to hold the cord in the box, it should hold. There was a cost of less than $2 for the clamp. A hardware store has a sale for $20. 00. As soon as I turned it on, the blower began to blow, was quiet and had a good There is just a small amount of work left on my part to construct the spray booth and install the blower, which should be sufficient for the purpose at hand.
