What are the dimensions of a 5 gallon bucket in real life?

Is it true that the lids can be reused?

Yes. They should, however, be thought of as a consumable in the long run. The tear strip locking feature is only available once. Here's some information to consider. Modern bucket lids are usually designed with a tamper-proof feature to prevent them from accidentally coming off. A tear strip is built into your lid. In most cases, the lid is first installed by striking the rim with a rubber mallet every 4 to 6 inches around the perimeter. The bucket's lid has been securely fastened. When removing the lid for the first time, pull on the tab on the lower edge of the lid. This tab serves as the tear strip's leading edge. When the rim is completely removed from the lid, each section of the rim flexes, allowing the lid to be removed from the bucket. After that, the lid can be removed and replaced as needed. At this point, the lid may behave in the way you're used to. Some people may choose to remove the tear strip before using it for the first time to make the installation process go more smoothly. Others prefer the tamper evident feature, which ensures that the bucket isn't opened before it's time to use it. These buckets have a variety of uses, ranging from food to industrial. You can imagine how important it is to have a secure lid on a bucket of paint or honey in transit. Each section of the lid can flex because of the slots in the rim. The lid would be nearly impossible to remove without these slots. Even with the slots, opening and closing the lids will require some hand strength. A bucket wrench or lid lifter, such as ASIN B006RXPV4Y, is popular among some people. A study found that 85% of consumers own a 5 gallon bucket suggesting that the majority of us who use industrial buckets will be familiar with the nature of the lid installation,% the setting up It's important to note, however, that these are rugged industrial storage products, not kitchenware. We recommend Gamma Seal lids (which convert your bucket to a screw-on bucket) for those who find the function of the lids too difficult to manage, or for whom ease of access is critical. on the lid) or the low-cost, flexible, no-gasket option. lids with a low profile that are easy to peel If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Is it necessary to store rice in mylar bags or can I just dump it into a bucket and close the lid?

In my experience, if the bucket is food grade, you can put the rice straight into it if you plan to eat it within a couple of years. You should probably put the rice in mylar bags with the air removed if you want to keep it safe for 50 years. Having said that, I've left rice in buckets for YEARS and it's still fine.

Is this bucket's lid or bucket transparent? All I wanted to do was make sure there was no light coming in. ?

When held up to the light, you can see light through the lid and bucket, which are both made of white plastic. If you don't want any light to reach the contents, this isn't the way to go.

The lids are not removed
3/5

The lids are thick and sturdy, and they pack down tightly. excessively tight The lids had to be put on with a rubber mallet, and there was no easy way to take them off afterwards. Thankfully, we're storing them for the long haul, but I still need to be able to access them at some point. br>br>The way the lids would have to be pried off gives the impression that this is a one-time use bucket. I was looking for food-grade buckets that I could easily get into while remaining airtight, such as those used for flour, sugar, salt, and other dry goods. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen baking. br>br>These aren't something I'd use on a daily basis. You'll never be able to get it off without a crowbar, but it's still a sturdy bucket with a super tight lid.

It's solid and airtight
5/5

These buckets have a lot of weight to them. To seal them, you'll need to slam them down with a rubber mallet. They're completely airtight once they're sealed. They were used to store rice and beans for long periods of time. I would purchase this item again.

It's ideal for wood pellets
5/5

These buckets have been on my wish list for a while. They are much more durable and of higher quality than big box buckets. They're also food-safe, with a sealable lid. The safety seal cannot be reattached once it has been broken, but the bucket remains airtight. br> I use these to keep my pit boss's wood pellets in. The quality and freshness of your pellets can be preserved by keeping them dry and airtight. If necessary, I will buy it again. I would strongly suggest it!.

These buckets are of excellent quality
5/5

To begin, I'd like to point out that many of the negative reviews do not accurately reflect the buckets or the seller. The buckets have a thickness of 90 mil. Big box and do-it-yourself centers are not as thick as this. The lids are sturdy, and they cannot be removed until the plastic strip at the bottom edge of the lid is removed, which can be done with or without a rubber mallet (which makes the process go faster). On the lid itself, this is stated. This, in my opinion, is something that people fail to do. For a few dollars, you can also get a small tool to help you remove the lid. The lid will come off after the tearaway strip on the lid is removed. The lid also has a very good o-ring on it, in my opinion. a ring-shaped gasket that aids in the sealing of the bucket's lid. A flat gasket is used on a lot of cheaper buckets and lids, and it tends to deform over time; you get what you pay for. These may cost a little more, but they're of better quality than those found at Home Depot, Lowe's, and other home improvement stores. I am very pleased with the quality of the 70mil. I ordered 12 and plan to order at least another 6, if not more. There were no missing items in the order.

A hammer on the lid adds to the quality

Outstanding craftsmanship! br>The lids are very secure, but they're not screwed on, and I'm not sure how tight they'll be after the first opening.

Don't do it! ePackageSupply is not a good place to get these buckets
3/5

First, one of my lids was taken away from me. The buckets are too big for the lids to fit on them. I spent an extra $5 on top of the $60 bucket set to buy a rubber mallet just to try to put them on. The seller claims it's because I'm not slamming the lids down hard enough. So I enlisted the help of a large, burly male neighbor. The 250-pounder, according to reports, Next door's behemoth isn't up to the task. br>br>I haven't managed to get a lid on yet, but I doubt I'll ever be able to take one off.
