There are literally no usable plates among the 40 I received. @Seller, br>br>@Seller, br>br>@Seller, br>br> Do you think you're giving it your all? What a load of nonsense. I'm sure some people have gotten some good plates because the reviews aren't all negative, but in my two purchases from this vendor, I have received zero usable plates. br>br>I'm getting a lot of flak for re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re- they are the ones to order from I assumed the first time was a fluke, but it appears that was not the case. It's a waste of money, but it's even more aggravating to spend HOURS trying to inoculate these unviable dishes.
The first dish worked VERY well for cultivating a mushroom clone, despite the fact that it came with no sealing on it and was only protected by the zip lock bag in which it arrived. When I went to get another dish a few weeks later, I discovered that every dish in the sealed zip lock bag had been contaminated (see photos).
When exposed to air, they became sterile and began to grow mold. They carried out their responsibilities to the best of their abilities. When exposed to air for an hour, they became sterile and began to grow mold. If you're looking for a way to test for mold, this ten-pack is the way to go. One should be placed in the center of each room. For one hour, the house was opened 4 feet off the ground. Then I put it in a sandwich bag with a zip lock closure. Label them and store them in a dark drawer or cabinet for 5 days. After seven days, look for mold on the plates. Don't forget to put one outside as a safety precaution. In our case, the amount of air produced outside was 100 times that produced inside. Outside, the air was foul. In this case, 3M furnace filters or an air cleaner like Winix should be used to filter the air that enters the house. * If you have a serious problem, you can compare mold samples to pictures found on the internet to figure out what kind of mold you have, or send them to a lab ($40ea Ouch).
The good: br>I was very pleased with the presentation and shipping. The dishes were spotless and contained in a ziploc bag. If you're into that kind of thing, you're in for a real treat. The suppliers respond quickly to inquiries, but will respond to your question with more questions and no solutions, so if you're into that kind of thing, you're in for a real treat. The disadvantages: br>br> br>Unfortunately, it was a complete waste of money. Nothing grew on any of the plates' medium, not even a trace of bacteria. It's been over a week since the plates have been exposed to various contaminants. It didn't work out, and I had to throw them away. br>br>I figured this would be a good way to save time by skipping the prep work and jumping right into agar. Unfortunately, it appears that making your own beer is the only option.

- Affirmative update. I've ordered these twice now and have let them sit for a week to ensure they're contaminate-free, and each time they've been perfect; I was a little skeptical at first because of the negative reviews alleging contamination, but I haven't had a single issue. Not to say there aren't times when something slips through the cracks, but I have my doubts about some reviewers' inoculation methods and wonder how many of them blame the product for their filth. (Who knows?) What I know is that my orders arrived on time, without incident, and were 100% sterile… until I gave some cultures to them until I gave some cultures to them.
These dishes are very convenient, and they arrived sterile. My sterile sleeve of plates arrived in a bag (not individually sealed). ) Handle and store unused dishes with caution. br>br>I isolated a dirty sample in still air using my dishes. As expected (due to the sample), my first plate contained multiple microorganisms. ) I then removed the desired organism and placed it in new Petri dishes. Contaminants were removed from all of the transfers.
However, because they are not parafilmed, two of my dishes arrived with significant mold colonization and had to be discarded. The other eight, for some reason, did not become contaminated and appear to be functioning normally following immediate parafilming and an initial incubation period. I'll contact the seller to let them know, and I'll update this review when I have more information.
You're in a hurry and need some basic potato dextrose plates. I ordered a sleeve of these agar plates (10) from these guys, and they arrived in a matter of days. There isn't any pollution. So far, my mushies have thrived in this environment. I'll buy more when I run out, but I'll have to learn how to mix and pour my own agar plates eventually.
