Spatulas like these cannot be used as laboratory tools since they violate their listing and are not compatible with their listing. Both of them are magnetic and were covered in rust (see pictures). Both of them are not made from stainless steel.
They were made for use in an art studio because I mix a lot of paint (acrylic, gouache, watercolor, etc. ) and move my watercolors from palette to palette and need tiny spatulas, scoops, and other tools to help me in that process. That would be a great use for them. It has been used and washed many times without them bending or rusting, even after many years. They are inexpensive and don't need to be perfect, so pigment and paint do get stuck to the paddle surfaces rather than sliding off. However, I should also note that the paddle surfaces aren't perfectly smooth so pigment and paint do stick to them instead of sliding cleanly off. It's exactly what I wanted, and I'm glad I bought it. I use it several times a day, and I wish I had bought it in the past. I could have saved a lot of time and effort and time spent cleaning!.
It is a completely different item from the double edged spatulas to have these three more long pieces with scoops. A decent finish and manufacturing go into their manufacture. It is a double-edged spatula. Almost as if they were ground with a rock by a child. Using these would require me to spend a fair amount of time cleaning them up. So, I'm not going to bother, since I'm not sure if they would rust anyway. Their only job will be to scrape gaskets in the garage. I ordered this set and another at the same time. No matter what happens, I'll be using the other set for any real work, so I might as well return these. I just don't feel like going through the process right now, so I'm not going to return them. We cannot recommend it.
We do not recommend it. Despite their crude appearance, these are quite useful. There is no polish on the steel, it is rough. On several of these tools, darker grinding marks are visible on the edges. We do not recommend it. Even if you allow me to return them for a refund, the price is probably not.
This is a very large set of tools - I'd not realized how large they would be from the description. As I'm a little clumsy with them, I'm used to using these tools on a small It is mostly what they should do, but they do it exactly the way it is supposed to be done. Their wide temperature range makes them suitable for a wide variety of applications. The edge of some of these as well as the leather may have a really sharp edge, Considering the price, this was a great purchase.
Just glancing at the pictures is not sufficient to make a purchase.
The set comes with 8 different types and sizes of scoops, which I use to measure tiny amounts and stir my monoprints. I make custom inks and watercolors with mica pigments and these spoons work great for measuring tiny amounts and stirring my products. The only scoop I found had a rough edge on the side, but it did not affect the rest of the scoops. I expect these spoons to last quite some time. Overall, they are durable and have a good value for the price. The free storage item is also very useful when it comes to storing them.
There's only one unit in my home and it fills a #2 capsule without a hitch. The scoop even makes it possible for me to tamp down the capsule.
