There is a lock on the lid to make it easier to empty The cons of this are that things are secured from prying eyes, but they are not always convenient. The blanket has held up to wind and rain without any problems and served as a good way to separate the butts.

It is a good, solid piece of equipment I bought for an Air BNB rental we have. They are easy to spot without being unsightly, and are of good construction. It's hoped that guests will keep their butts in this ashtray instead of throwing them across the yard. We also collected a couple of metal chairs for people to sit near the ashtray while they smoke.
