I'm not sure why we need one, but O felt compelled to purchase one. I bought a calibrated mass and now use this as a backup; it's the same as the calibrated version, but without the certificate. Mass was. Dead- This brick will remain in our cabinet until I require it once a month.

The calibration weight is quite good

The quality isn't quite as good as my Rice Lake weights, but it's still acceptable. The precision appears to be excellent. I'd give it a "B" on a scale of one to ten. Rice Lake receives a perfect score.
