No, you do not require a bracket.

What is the size of the backwashing port on the bottom valve? So I won't have to worry about spraying myself, I'm going to plumb that. ?

My filter's plastic housing needs to be replaced, and I'm looking for a solution. To accept the housing, the fitting has a 3" diameter. Is it going to work?
