UV lamp with dual wavelengths of 254 and 365nm that is long-lasting and powerful. AI-3UV20 is the model number for this item. Input voltage ranges from 120 to 240 V AC at 50-60 Hz. Two G6T5 6W bulbs, one for 254 nm and the other for 365 nm, are used in this lamp. If desired, the two wavelengths can be turned on at the same time.

FREE EXTRA OPTION: Depending on the bulb, this lamp can be used as a 254 nm x2 or a 365 nm x2 lamp. We can prepare the unit for exclusive 254 nm (double the power, 6W x2) or 365 nm at no additional charge if desired. If your application only requires one wavelength, this could be very useful because you can get twice the lighting intensity (by turning on both bulbs at the same time). Simply send us an email before or after you make a purchase.

In the photos, there is a TLC plate illumination example with a wavelength of 254nm. The distance between the plate and the ground is 15cm. The 365 nm demonstration was done on half-sheet letter paper. The high-quality brightness can be seen in both wavelength images, which were taken in well-lit, unshaded room lighting conditions.

This lamp can also be used as an entry-level mineral lamp in the field. In a completely dark room, held at a distance of 30 cm (1 foot), and using only a single 254 nm, a demonstration photo was taken with mineral rocks of varying fluorescence intensity.

Bulb with a long wavelength

The long wave bulb is no longer working after turning the unit on four times and leaving it on for no more than five minutes each time. Don't throw your money away on a tour. br>br>Updated on December 28th, 20. The seller contacted me and suggested that I try switching bulbs to see if the issue was with the bulb or the circuit. The long wave bulb was erratic, but the short wave bulb worked fine, and the long wave bulb had hot melt glue applied to the bulb connections, but the bond had failed. This review will be updated as new information becomes available. br>br>Updated on 1/21/21. I went through a check-out procedure with the company and everything seemed to be in order, but when it was turned on, the behavior was still erratic. Then I noticed that the plug adaptor and extension cord didn't quite fit together. There were no sparks, no smoke, and no warmth; only an erratic connection. The light works perfectly now that I have a new cord. I hope I didn't scare you away from buying something. Advanced Instruments is a wonderful company that is always willing to help and make things right. They have my utmost admiration. It's a pleasant illumination.

This lamp is exactly what I needed for testing mineral specimens, and the customer service was excellent as well

Even when there isn't complete darkness, it has a strong presence. It easily transitions from long to short wave UV, making mineral specimen identification fun and efficient. A significant plus is the company's excellent customer service. I had a couple of inquiries about the various models- , portable vs. non-portable, and the company quickly responded. This product and company are both highly recommended by me.
