Aside from that, it's simply too dark. It's fine for white eggs, but it's difficult to see anything else. br>I was on Amazon looking for a different egg loom and decided to write a review because it might help someone save money. I used to be the director of a large hatchery, so I'm familiar with the situation.
I recently started breeding pigeons (I'm the daughter of the account holder, so this isn't my real name), and part of the process involves candling the eggs, just like chickens! Bringing out two phones - one for taking pictures of the eggs' progress and the other for taking pictures of my shaky hands one with a flashlight and one with a camera - It wasn't the best of situations. The egg refused to stay on the phone's flashlight, and taking a clear image while trying to keep the egg in place was difficult, but it was well worth it. I'm very careful not to fling the egg out of the little cup it can sit in on top of the light with my shaky hands, but it's a lot better than what I had before. When I've used it, it hasn't gotten hot at all. I'd recommend it!.
The flashlight on my iPhone 8 is a lot brighter. I like the way this light cups the egg, but I can't see much inside it. I used this on the eggs of Button Quail and Cotournix Quail.
My only minor gripe is that the batteries drain quickly due to the brightness of the light. I don't think it would be a problem if I wasn't so obsessed with candling my eggs, so I would still recommend this light.
I bought it to keep track of my eggs' progress. I raise guinea pigs, chickens, and ducks, and it's critical to keep track of their progress so that any non-fertile eggs can be removed and the risk of contamination is minimized. A rubber ring on this product helps focus all of the light through the egg, allowing for a fantastic view. It's a small and easy-to-handle item. This is an excellent product.
I understand that some may consider the price to be a little high, but I can assure you that you get what you pay for. No matter how dark your eggs are, this little one will brighten them up.
I quickly candled my eggs and could tell which ones were developing right away! This product has exceeded my expectations!.
This egg candler is amazing; I have dark quail eggs, and it brightens them up like crazy. If you work with eggs of any kind, you won't be able to get by with a small flashlight or a phone light. You'll need this candler. Heavy-duty, extremely bright; do not look directly into the light. I'm not sure why I waited so long to get one.
