the- Given the price, I had high hopes, but these shouldn't be on the market in the first place. br>br>For starters, there are manufacturing flaws in the unit, including chips and fractures in the porcelain edge. The fractures have an intact glaze over them, indicating that they aren't from shipping. The flaw is hidden beneath the surface. Second, the surface on which your paper will be laid isn't even close to being flat. Instead, it's convex, making creating a proper seal difficult, if not impossible. When a filtration system reaches the end, the fluid pools near the edges and is pulled around them, along with the solids you were trying to recover. If you want to save some money, I recommend looking for a used Coorstek.
On the inner surface, where the filter paper is placed, it appears to be a little convex. At least in my case, this isn't a deal breaker. If you require extreme precision, you'll almost certainly need much more expensive equipment. There isn't a better piece of equipment for the money.
I noticed hairline cracks after the first use and assumed it was just the enamel, but it wasn't. By the third use, liquid has seeped into the cracks. It wasn't expensive, but I expected it to last more than five uses. I'm having no trouble loading the pictures.
It wasn't until I got it that I realized how much bigger and more massive it was. But now I like it even more because I think it will last a long time, and I didn't plan on getting a clamp for it until after I got it. And while I was initially concerned about how heavy this (694 g) would be on top of an empty flask, it is well worth the money.
There are no obvious flaws. It appears to be a good fit. This one is going to be top heavy, so be cautious. Make sure you have enough support. If used properly, it should be effective.
it's fantastic.
There was a spot on the rim of the funnel where glaze was missing, so I wouldn't call it "flawless. ".
This funnel is fantastic. It's well-made, with no flaws that one would expect from a mass-produced porcelain product, and it holds up well under high vacuum.
