Compared with most other glass frit filters, this one has relatively coarse frit. If you need a finer filter, you can certainly put an appropriately sized disk of filter paper over it. If you do not want to use filter paper, you can leave the frit in place.

Conforms to expectations. An effective seal is provided by ground glass. In just 20 seconds, my wife can make delicious coffee by placing a paper filter in the Buchner, filling it with coffee, pumping a vacuum, and taking a drink. because she is a chemistry professor, there probably isn't a cooler way to make.

There is a hazard of using the bottom as the chemical you used blew I would not recommend this item because the bottom of the flask blew out on me in the middle of distillation

You should clean with alcohol, not tap water and hire a hand vac pump instead of a motor to do the job

I love the way this works. You should avoid running tap water through these things while cleaning them, and be careful to not overdo the vac if you are using one. The equipment you will receive is unlikely to be of high quality. There are a couple options on Amazon and they are I use it with my mightyvac hand vacuum pump flawlessly. The filters filter perfectly without clogging and there are no imploding issues. There's a problem, though This is a 15-micron filter, and if dirty tap water runs through it, the filter may clog. - The purpose of this is not for that. The surface should only be cleaned with alcohol.

An excellent deal for the money

The quality here is exceptional for the price. Made of good quality and packaged well. Although it was over-packaged, it didn't break in transit, so that's okay. This filter is like all of them in that you have to clean the frit, but otherwise it's a very good vacuum filter setup at a reasonable price.

The item had to be shipped from China for a month before it got clogged up with With water and soap, I was able to clean it so that it's fit for food to be consumed

I was extremely frustrated by the clogged filter plate when the system filtered 300ml of water at the proper rate and then it began to drip. The shipment also came from China. So I waited a month for it to seem to work but eventually quit in just.

I would normally filter it for hours or even days with the old filters. With this little pump and the filter system it takes me 20 minutes, and all the debris is gone and my product is at the bottom.
