In a middle school setting, she is far too frail to be considered safe

The description claims that these glass plates are suitable for 6-year-olds, but they pose a serious safety hazard. Students in grades 8 through 12 are included in this group. They are appropriate for people over the age of 13, but the box warns that they are not suitable for children under the age of thirteen. They broke the plates in a variety of ways despite my careful instructions, modeling, and practice. Injury was avoided thanks to close monitoring, but it would be very easy to get hurt on these. They are not something I would recommend to anyone.

For student use, the edges are too sharp and the material is too thin

I appreciate how quickly the glass arrived and how well it was packaged. I can't use it for students because of the sharp edges and "thinness" of the packaging.

Both . These are scratch plates, not streak plates, made of glass. Both are used to test minerals, but one looks for hardness (scratch), while the other looks for streak color.
