Yes, it has a hardwood floor that is specifically designed for that purpose.
I just got mine today, and it's fantastic for vacuuming under furniture. This was an excellent buy.
It is the quietest vacuum I have ever owned. I recently upgraded from an older upright Shark (4 or 5 years old), and this one is noticeably quieter.

Normally, I would not write a review so soon after receiving a product, but as an engineer, the first review deeply disturbed me; this product does not merit that rating. I bought mine three days ago; I currently have a cordless expensive one, but I'm tired of having to replace the battery every two years (one original battery costs 120$). because it is corded! Really - It does an excellent job, and we have been pleased with it thus far. If I discover any problems with this vacuum cleaner, I will gladly provide an update. br>br>Thank you for taking the time to read it.
We used to own an older model Shark Rocket Duo and were extremely pleased with it. We chose this VERTEX model over the lift away APEX because of the latter's weight and because we have a lot of hardwood floors, and the VERTEX's fins appeared to be better than the APEX's finds/brushes. This model, on the other hand, has some unexpected "features" that have us considering returning it. (In a few weeks, I'll update this review, and the rating may be reduced to 3/5 stars. ) )br>br>Notable Advantagesbr>• We like how light it is, which makes it easy to use on stairs and in general. • The head width initially appeared to be a little narrow, but it is ideal for stair climbing. It significantly reduces the amount of time it takes to clean the stairs. br>• The light from the head is bright, making it easy to see dirt. br>• Handling on hardwood- It's a lot of fun to arrange the furniture on the floor. It's simple to place where you want it, and it glides across carpets and hard floors in a straight line. br>• Cleaning the dustbin and filter is simple, perhaps even simpler than with older models. br>• There is a noticeable amount of suction power. br>br>Notable Drawbacksbr>• The unit began emitting a high-pitched noise shortly after being turned on. Even with the dustbin removed, you can hear a high-pitched whine. It's extremely loud, with a sound pressure of 76-80 decibels in my wife's ear. 78 dB. (The EPA's maximum permissible noise level for preventing hearing damage is 70 dB, so this is about 8 times higher. ) ) This issue has been discussed by others. br>• On a carpeted floor with a low-volume setting When pulling backwards on pile rugs (which is all we have), the head tends to jump around and is difficult to keep in a straight line; it takes some getting used to, but it can be mostly controlled with attention. By simply staying on the hardwood, you can avoid this leaping around. the setting of the floor • A crevice tool with a small brush is permanently attached to the flexible hose attachment. Other tools will not work with it. Our old Shark hose won't work with the new VERTEX. We do have a Kenmore hose that will work, so we may use it. br>• Even after multiple uses, the carpet-to-hard-floor switch buttons are difficult to operate. br>br>Updatebr>We're coming back after a two-month absence. The Apex LiftAway is something we bought. It's noticeably heavier, but in every other way it's superior. br>br>To summarize, if you're primarily interested in lightweight, powerful suction and don't mind a bit of noise, this is the vacuum for you. This is ideal for you if you enjoy high-pitched noises. Otherwise, go with another option.
I wasn't as taken aback as I had hoped! Ok. This is not even close to my shark duo clean rocket (HV382) that I reviewed in 2017. br>I'm not sure I'd buy this one again. I bought this in October and have been meaning to write a review for quite some time. I didn't want to offend anyone, so I kept my tone light. So, here I am, all of a sudden. br>In fact, the Shark duo clean rocket is far more effective. However, it has a hair-wrapping roller that is difficult to clean. The new Vertex has a new roller that doesn't get hair and crap wrapped around it, which is, by the way, the best feature of this newer machine. Because it is higher on the floor, it does not pick up as much dirt and debris. As a result, it only picks up about half of my Dyson absolute 10, as well as my shark rocket. That's all I have to say about it. Simply put, I'm not overjoyed. I wish Shark would focus more on releasing just ONE good product rather than making so many choices and only getting it half right. This is simply my viewpoint. Btw. I have 13 dogs and vacuum all of the time. So I know what a good vacuum cleaner is when I see one! My Dyson is the most amazing machine I've ever seen! br>This Shark Vertex, on the other hand, I'm really sorry I bought it! This is without a doubt the WORST vacuum I've ever owned. It overheats, so I clean it every day, by removing the roller that prevents hair from becoming trapped in it, because everything gets trapped in front of it. Due to a faulty filtration system, the building overheats. You know you've got a problem when you have to take the vacuum apart every day to clean! Not only would I refuse this vacuum, but I'd also run!.
The first one overheated to the point where it melted the door to the post-motor filter. The second unit overheats as well, but not to the point where thermal protection is activated. However, after about two minutes of use, it begins to run at a lower power level. The suction on this unit is also a problem. When I tap the head unit against the floor after vacuuming, a lot of dirt falls out onto the clean floor. I try to suck it up with the vacuum head removed, but there isn't enough suction to lift it into the canister. All of the filters have been cleaned. This Shark model is a complete waste of money. I have a full-sized Shark that I adore. This device is a complete waste of money.
I bought a Shark Navigator three years ago and love it, but I don't like taking it apart to clean the brush rollers after each use, so this newer vacuum with fins piqued my interest. Although the suction is excellent, my Navigator is noticeably less maneuverable and agile. When steering it, it kinks a little and "sticks," but that could just be the vacuum I got. Also, the crevice tool is too short, and I'm not sure who decided to remove the pull down brush, but I believe that decision should be reconsidered. On the plus side, hair doesn't get caught in the brush rollers, and this model is much gentler on my rugs.
