I usually wait at least a couple of hours, if not overnight, before returning to "normal" use. It may not be required by the directions, but I have chosen to do so, and it has worked out perfectly for me. I use the product twice a year, and my floors are always in excellent condition.
I use a Bona pad, and after washing it, it's a little crunchy. However, I've had no problems with the same pad for several years. I hope this has been of assistance.
So, while the chip will still be present and visible, I'm not sure what you're looking for. Bona isn't designed to conceal a floor flaw.
I wouldn't, because I don't use profuct in my daily life.

But, because I use Bona for cleaning, I decided to give it a try. After sweeping, cleaning, and drying the floor, I used the orange applicator to apply the first coat. It did an excellent job of balancing everything out, and the first cost, which was thin, took about an hour to dry. Before going to bed, I applied a second coat so that no one would walk on it for hours, and the floor looks fantastic. I did this because I have a new puppy who has had a lot of accidents on the floor, and we've been cleaning them up with sanitizer, but some of the pee had removed the poly, leaving spots with and without poly all over the floor. Now everything is back to normal, and the pee is just dripping on top. So, thank you for this product; my solid maple floors are once again looking good. For those who care, the sheen is satin, maybe a tad more with two coats, but not glossy, which I like because glossy would show all the scratches, which it doesn't.
It's a fantastic product for my dingy, worn-out floors. I started by filling in the dents and scratches on my floor with a stain pen, then sweeping, cleaning with Bona wood cleaner, and finally applying the refresher. It's a lovely, gleaming piece. I used a standard microfiber mop and soaked it thoroughly. If you don't use enough product, the shine won't be as good as it should be. I put a lot of it in there. I'm hoping this goes on for more than a day. Because moving all of my furniture around is too difficult, I'm only staying for 3 months.
It takes a little patience to do this. I found that applying a couple thin coats with a new, clean sponge mop worked best. I tried it with a new microfiber mop, and it streaked a lot, just like others have said. It had a smudgy appearance to it. As a result, I found the sponge to be more effective. It lasts about a month in my high-traffic areas and leaves the floor with a satin finish rather than a high-gloss shine. With three boys and two large dogs, I have a Bella wood floor, and my high-traffic areas have fine scratches that give the area a dull appearance. The sheen of the floor was able to be replicated with this product. I would recommend this product; I did use more than I anticipated, but I didn't want a high shine.
When used as directed, it works well and keeps floors looking good. I've always followed the instructions and reapply every six months or so. In between refresher applications, I clean the floor with Bona professional hardwood floor cleaner once a month. The 6 month applications are in response to high traffic areas. (I can't just spot refresh, so I do the entire floor as directed) It keeps the floors looking good for five years and there hasn't been a need to strip and refinish the entire area. For us, it's a keeper.

Our floor is made of natural hardwood that has been treated with a water-resistant finish. In the 1990s, there was a polyeurathane-based polyeurathane. This was done with a swiffer-style mop and a soft microfiber cover, as if I were just doing a "mop and glow" application. In an hour, it was dry enough to walk on. It completely transformed the appearance of the floor! It shone brighter and was easier to clean since then.
We've been using the Bona cleaner for years, as recommended when we refinished 60-year-old oak floors, but they've been showing signs of wear due to a parent who uses a walker. We're doing one room at a time because we needed to clean each floor extensively before restoring it. Before using this product, we used a steam mop, changing pads until the pads stopped picking up dirt, dried, and then used the Bona cleaner. So far, we are pleased with the results!.
The first finish we used was a satin Bona product. We decided to use the Refresher because we knew it would work with the original finish. I really like how I didn't have to sand anything and only had to clean the floors. The product is very easy to apply and quickly dries. It was well worth the money. On the top, you can see a finished floor, and on the bottom, you can see a non-finished floor.
