After applying a new patch, I often wait a few hours or overnight before resuming "normal" usage. I have chosen to do that even though the directions don't suggest it, but it's the way I've chosen to do it. This product keeps my floors looking great two times a year and I use it twice a year.
It is a little crunchy after it has been washed when I use the pad made by Bona. The same pad has remained in use for several years with no ill effects. I hope you find this helpful.
