The only thing you will ever need is this. The one I own is a 1992 model. I still think it is the best vacuum I've ever owned in terms of durability, effectiveness, and usability. If you keep it this long, you will need to replace the hose and maybe the power cord, but the parts have been easily obtained in the past. We have replaced the hepa filter a few times, so I have not had any problems with suction. The vacuum even captured the remains of a dead rat on one construction site. We just do what we do best, not what's pretty.
