Questions & Answers

Is it just me, or does the vacuuming part of the unit only vacuum on backwards strokes (and you can't get it to slide forward) when working on carpet?

Hello,br>This vacuum was given to me because of this issue. What I discovered was that the vacuum tubes, particularly the solid-state ones, are made of a very thin, brittle plastic. When used on carpet, they flex and bend easily, making it difficult to achieve "easy forward motion." You could open the "bleeder valve," which is located on the curved upper handle, but that would result in a loss of suction power. I bought a set of vacuum wand tubes for a small shop vac from Home Depot, and they were very solid, stiff, and stayed connected. I now own a vacuum cleaner, which is a fantastic tool. I hope this information is useful to you.

Is shag carpet compatible with this vacuum?

I have a shag carpet in my living room. It can only get what's on top of it, and it won't be able to handle it completely. Ideal for a flat surface.

I'm curious about the vacuum's wattage. ?

There is a total of 1,080 watts available.

I haven't been able to locate a suitable filter replacement part. It's an absolute nightmare! None of them seemed to belong. Other than Amazon, Walmart, Target, and eBay, what other options do you have?

Have you just typed Bissell Zing Replacement Filter into your search engine? They cost less than $10 on Amazon and eBay.

A major flaw in the design
3/5

This has the potential to be a fantastic vacuum. It's a powerful piece that's also well-made. Except for one major flaw in the design: br>br>The floor tools and the telescoping hose extenders (those straight plastic tubes that connect to the hose) do not lock or click into each other. They simply slide into one another. This enables them to constantly pull apart. Especially if you're not on a hard wood floor and are instead on a carpet or another type of material. The suction is so strong that the telescoping extenders or the floor tool pop off when you pull them away. Very inconvenient, and something as simple as a plastic interlocking click or lock design could have solved the problem. It doesn't appear that adding a locking/clicking feature to the plastic parts would have cost Bissell a lot of money, so it's strange and inefficient that they didn't do so. I can only think of duct taping these extenders and the floor tool to the extender as a solution. However, every time I have to take off and re-enter, this will be extremely inconvenient. After you've used the vacuum, apply the duct tape. br>br>I believe Bissell purposefully made this product to be as bad as it is. This is not a problem with the Bissell 4122 (basically the bagged version of this vacuum). Both the telescoping extenders and the floor tools have locking mechanisms, and the telescoping extenders are constructed of stainless steel rather than cheap plastic. And it's the same price as the model without the bag, and they're almost identical in terms of specs. I'm guessing Bissell makes the majority of its money from bag sales, similar to how printer companies profit from ink sales. Because the bagless models aren't profitable, Bissell designs them to be cheap and ineffective, while the bagged models are superior and cost the same.

Super light and portable, this is a great addition to your robot vacuum
5/5

As a result, our robot vacuum does not get into the corners (what?). Is it really possible for a round vacuum to clean a corner? ), and I can't exactly transport a large, heavy vacuum-cleaner around with me. As a result, the robot was created in the first place. br>br>Attach the Bissell Zing to the Bissell Zing. Despite mixed reviews, I decided to go for it because it was so cheap, on Amazon, and from a well-known brand. Our home is mostly hardwood, with carpet in the bedrooms and stairwell. Let me tell you something: this thing is incredible. br>br>It's incredibly light, weighing in at less than 10 pounds; Because of the large wheels on the canister base, it wouldn't really matter. It'll be no problem for me to pull it behind me. Then there's the suction, which I use with one pole attached and the focus/baseboard attachment attached. This vacuum cleaner has so much suction power that you can use it to clean your hairbrushes. (My hair has almost reached my waist. ) so you can imagine)br>br>And for the first time in my life, I'm not afraid to clean the darn canister. Of course, the hubs is ecstatic about it. It's like picking up a coffee mug and pressing a button, only for the bottom to fall out! Why can't it be that simple for all of them? br>It would be cool if it came with some long plastic tweezers to grab around the filter on the inside. But I suppose you can't have it all, can you? br>br>So if you need a supplementary vacuum to clean your corners, baseboards, walls, windows, fans, etc. and/or you have mostly hard floors and/or you or someone in your household has an excessive length/amount of hair, this is the vacuum for you. br>br>I would strongly advise you to purchase this product.

Garbage! Do not make a purchase
3/5

This thing is a complete waste of time! Because of all the positive feedback, I decided to purchase it. This product does not appear to be the same as the one mentioned in all of the reviews. First and foremost, there is no spin brush on the head, so it simply sticks to the floor and you'll have a hard time moving it back and forth like a vacuum cleaner! And even if you do get it to move back and forth, there's no latch to keep the tubes, attachments, and other items from falling off. Because the hose is so short, I have to bend over in an uncomfortable 90-degree angle the entire time, as shown in the photos. My husband, who stands at 6'3, could never use this cheap garbage because I'm only 5'2. My back is in excruciating pain as a result of it. This vacuum irritates me to no end. I'm sorry I squandered my money. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please.

HARDWOOD has a fantastic product
4/5

I feel compelled to write this review because I frequently find AMAZON reviews to be somewhat revealing. Operator error is the most common cause of errors. As a result, here's a review from a semi-professional. In 2019, a young lady who knows how to use a vacuum. br>br>I'm a big fan of this vacuum. In the last ten years, I've owned at least six vacuum cleaners, ranging from Dysons to large upright bissels. In terms of suction power, this one outperforms Dysons and sharks. I'm blown away. It's ideal for floors made of HARDWOOD or TILE. I DO NOT advise using it on a carpet. I don't have carpet, but I can see why those who do have problems. br>br>One major flaw is the cord's length; I have a large house with many turns and rooms due to its age. It's a bit of a downer, but I solved the problem with an extension cord. br>br>Some users have expressed dissatisfaction with the attachments' lack of tight seal. Despite the lack of a latch, I've found that the times I have the most trouble are when I put it under something I shouldn't. The attachment fell off because I, not Bissell, placed it under something that was too low. br>br>It's also clear that Bissell didn't design this vacuum for large jobs, despite the fact that I planned and used it for my entire 1200 square feet and it worked perfectly; it does have a small canister, but I'm not lazy enough to let that bother me. br>br>And that's all there is to it. Don't be afraid to take a chance. I thought the 50 dollars was well spent. You will be disappointed if you purchase if you have a large number of carpets.

For the money, this is a fantastic purchase
5/5

So, when I first got it, I was concerned about the size of the box. It was all in one place. It's a breeze to assemble. There are even some extras included. Suction is excellent in this small canister. It works like a charm. It is primarily intended for use on floors and as an indoor/outdoor carpet. On thicker carpet, it will work. On thicker carpet, however, you won't be able to move the handle back and forth like a regular vacuum. If you don't mind going one way with the vacuum and then switching directions, this is a good option. If you shed hair like I do, it will collect on the nozzle, allowing you to pick it off without it becoming tangled inside the canister. So far, I'm really pleased with this vacuum cleaner.
