It's impossible to say how many people can fit into a given space. Never have I put more than 3 gallons of water in the bucket, which is about 24 pounds. The weight I'm carrying is no problem to me. Here is my attempt to help.
It appears that the tub is an eighth of an inch Sturdy but not very strong.

I was somewhat hesitant about ordering this mop bucket because of its plastic handle (as opposed to a metal handle). It arrived in a large, but sized box that was just appropriate, and I couldn't wait to crack open the box. I knew as soon as I picked it up that it was a much nicer bucket than what you can find at I agree, it is definitely commercial quality, much better than the last one. Both the bucket handle and the bucket are made of plastic, but the plastic is thick and durable. I was anticipating it to be more narrow and shorter than it actually is, even though I specifically requested this size to fit my Super Jumbo 16" So far, this mop bucket has met all of my expectations. I haven't used it, but I am pleased with everything about it so far. There is a decent look to it and I enjoyed the heft of the plastic.

One of the ones that was sent to me was MUCH bigger than I had anticipated, but I kept it because I can use it in the future. The length of it is at least two feet. I am not sure if there are any other ways to describe what I got. It was solid, but the dimensions are incorrect compared to the 6 gallon that I received.
