This product worked well for a different application I used it for. A modification was necessary for the support cross member on my car after I had my transmission replaced. Originally, the exhaust pipes that went through the cross member were fitted with fixed supports. A modified cross member rattled, but did not budge. It should not be put near food until it has been fired a couple times and cured fully. It will look as if you have fiberglass hairs all over. I was not able to get it to work on My UDS smoker's lid was not sealed with it when I tried to seal it with it. My fault is probably greater than anyone else's. Permatex high temperature copper gasket sealer is the product I'd recommend if you decide to use it. That has made a big difference.
