There is no foamy feeling at all it is solid. I would refer to it as a sheet of "rubber." The same stuff that is used for wet suits. Aside from the lack of visible pores, the material is shiney and sleek, as well as water-resistant.
I don't think that will be a problem
In case you are planning to do this, I would definitely get the 1/4" thickness and use a thumbtack to secure it. To recess the tack, 1/4" would seem to be enough thickness. Despite this, much of the material is dense, making it feel almost slippery. It would work well if it were to be tucked beneath a heavy couch or similar object. If I were to use it under a lighter weight, I don't think it would perform well on a
There is still a brand name up by the name of Plio bond that will work perfectly on this, but any contact adhesive will work just fine as well

You should not be misled by the term "neoprene". To me, this term immediately conjures up images of a wetsuit. I want to use this between the metal trolling motor mount and the fiberglass of my boat, as it looks and feels like the sort of solid, durable rubber from which I want to create a sealed joint. As a result, it feels like rubber, not like a squishy wetsuit. The product is excellent.
As for the quality of this material, I've used it for a number of small projects in my garage with I'm not worried about it tearing easily since it's pretty sturdy stuff. It is mostly used to eliminate vibration and rattle, but it is also used to keep painted surfaces from scratching one another. It would be nice to have another roll if this one were to run out.
The gasket I have been looking for cannot be found anywhere else, so I bought it for my custom gasket. As long as it's thick enough like 1/8 inch, it can be cut to order. I can use it for other purposes as well but there is enough for my use.
There was way too much material for what I needed, and there was no way to cut the section down. The only way to get a new gasket for a MAF sensor in my truck is to replace the sensor, so it worked great for this project. In case I need more gaskets for something else, I now have plenty left over.
Can there possibly be anything else you need to know?.
Gaskets and diaphragms seem to be well suited to this material.
I was very satisfied with it.
This sheet is easy to cut and worked great for the project. The material cuts easily and performs very well for the project. We ended up gluing some pieces to some aluminum flat stock for scratch resistance, and that works very well as well.
