For backflow prevention, you need to know the size of the inlet and discharge pipes. A 3/4-inch check valve uses the same spring size as a 1" check valve, while a 1" check valve uses a smaller spring. You can use the bigger size springs for 25"- 2"
Perhaps it would have worked if the housing hadn't been deformed from the expansion of ice. A backflow valve is an expensive piece of equipment, but it is worth a try. The chance of it fixing the problem is 50/50

My research on backflow was sourced from YouTube, which I had never used before. The kit turned out to be the back flow kit I was looking for and I After building the backflow with the included parts, I virtually rebuilt the entire backflow (a new backflow term I learned in the process). After removing, cleaning, and replacing the check valves (including poppets), and replacing the diaphragm and plunger, and O-rings, I replaced the o-rings. The relief valve is sealed with a ring. To replace everything in the backflow, I basically used the whole kit. Even though the major leak stopped, there were still drops coming out of the weeping hole. It occurs at a rate of one drop every five According to my knowledge, this rebuild kit might work for some depending on what the issue is (the check valve #1 problem maybe). Any more involved than that, and this kit may be considered a "band aid" at best. I may get by through the season with this kit, but, inevitably, I will have to buy a new backflow to solve the situation completely. At $35 it seems a bit overpriced considering the sum total of the parts was only $5, and it didn't fix my issue entirely.
