It is amazing what it can do for garage door openers

My garage door opener and the rooms above my garage were both noisy and vibrating so I used two of these to try and isolate that sound. The fact that my old opener was so quiet after installing only two of these and replacing the rollers with nylon rollers is astonishing. In the past, we had considered spending $300 or more on a new, high-end opener, but I can't imagine anything could be quieter than my inexpensive 1/2 hp craftsman chain drive after I made these two My wife and I are very impressed with how low the hum is now as opposed to the shaking we have been dealing That was so easy and cheap! I am glad we went that route first!.

You will have a harder time installing your opener if it is not mounted on the side

I had to rearrange the supports on my garage door opener to move the track forward, which required me to drill a new bolt hole where the opener attached to my front wall. Unsure if it made much difference in noise, but it did lessen vibrations.

There would be a shaking of the whole house if the door opened. Since then, it is no louder than when it turns on the air conditioner. While it is still loud in the garage, we can no longer feel the shakes coming from the motor.
