I have currently only used two of these units and three stones - I will be switching to three next week The valves are more reliable. It would be nice to have more stone but it isn't necessary. There is a pond in my back yard that is 4500 gallons 40X30 with about 15 plants. There are 20 nice sized Koi in this tank.

Most people would have bought a cheap air pump (Hakko), thinking that it would function just as well as a higher priced pump. With regard to its 5-year history Over the course of its 100-year life, the diaphragms had to be replaced 3 times for a total cost of approximately This was partly due to the unit operating at a very high temperature, and to the unit being very The volume should be loud enough to hear the speaker not just a little bit loud I can hear the sound of the pond from about 100 feet away. Several years ago when the rubber diaphragms failed, I was ready for something new and decided to try the Medo brand, mostly because pistons were used Since it could barely be heard as soon as it was turned on, I thought something was wrong. I don't understand what the problem is - everything is running fine As nearly silently as possible It has been like that since then. The first price of these headphones is higher, but once the replacement diaphragms are accounted for, they're a great deal after all. The Medo ran 10 times cooler when swapped in with the exact same system. If anyone says that running hot is because of my installation, remember that when the same system was swapped with the Medo, the running was incredibly quiet.
Purchasing this second unit was a natural progression for me. Despite not realizing that the air filter should be changed every year, I was able to last for ten years with my first air pump (under a different brand name). My wife accidentally dropped the old pump into the pond, so I had to buy this one. Once it dried out, it worked for a couple of days, but then it stopped. My koi pond gets frozen over in winter because I use the pump to keep it warm. The crack in the ice has been kept open even during the coldest weather spells. It is working at a depth of four When it comes to ponds where you need to keep a hole in the ice, I strongly recommend this pump. It is a better option (and less expensive) than using a floating heater element.
The pump that I use for my Aquaponics system is great. It has plenty of air and is useful for the production of hydroponic plants. I love how quiet it is for a pump of its size. It's much quieter than the previous pumps I have owned. The system operates on a moving bio bed, two air stones on a DWC grow bed, and one air stone in a TAPALIA.
I highly recommend this pump. The best are never cheap, but the least expensive are not always the best. My recommendation is to go for it. One hitch I had was that I spent a lot of money replacing the piston on the first pump. It would be nice if the old pump were rebuilt, but no luck there.
The price was worth it. The lack of noise here is stunning. You can use it to run AirStones in a hydroponic deep water culture A good pressure is provided by the device. Compared to the pump, the sound of the air Stones bubbling is nearly audible.
There will be no disappointment for you.
A great product.
Although I was hesitant to purchase this pump, I am glad I did. It is quite a bit quieter than other pumps, and work great for my fish room. Check out some YouTube videos for tips on setup.
