It's a well-made, high-quality pump that's also a great value because it's completely enclosed and has a built-in cooling fan. I have an outdoor application that is housed in a concrete box, but I've had to replace the pumps on a regular basis. The motors on these pumps were all open vented and did not have a cooling fan. Yes, these motors were advertised as being water resistant, but constant overheating would be the first sign of impending failure for me. Because there are no vent holes in this pump, the fan simply blows air around the entire closed housing. It also has a label on it indicating that it is suitable for outdoor use, so I'm confident that this one will last me a long time. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> br>During Hurricane Harvey, my pump motor was completely submerged for nearly a week and never failed. I let it dry before connecting it to the power source, and I only used it for short periods of time at first. I was worried that water had gotten inside, and I needed some internal heat to speed up the drying process. In any case, it's now running on a longer schedule with no issues so far.
Excellent pump at a reasonable cost.
