I used it in a Halloween prop where I needed to lift a 12-pound prop quickly enough to scare people with a direct vertical action (no levers). The first cylinder I tried had 1/4 ports and was sluggish and wobbly, but this one had 3/8 ports and snapped right up. I was scared, so I used the mounting base they recommended.
