It will, but the cylinder itself is slightly longer. As a result, if you're not careful, the ram's stroke will come to a halt at the splitter's stop. Aside from that, everything is fine.

I placed an order for a 5X24" cylinder. It's a well-made hydraulic cylinder that I bought to replace one on a 33-ton Troy Bilt log splitter that had a simple seal that couldn't be replaced. The 1/2" female connectors are angled at a 45-degree angle in this configuration. in comparison to a 90-degree angle It's not as good as the original, but it's probably slightly more ergonomic as a result, which isn't a problem. The hole needed to be enlarged from 1 1/8" to 1 1/4" because the fixed end was too tight. This is a well-built cylinder that can be rebuilt if necessary. This is my second Magister hydraulic cylinder; the first was for a top link on a tractor. I would definitely buy from them again.
I looked into having my old cylinder rebuilt, but it turned out that buying a new one was less expensive. I received quotes for rebuilding that were $100 higher than the cost of a new one. This product comes highly recommended by me, as it is both affordable and valuable.
It fit perfectly in my grandfather's log splitter, and we cycled it about ten times before I realized the hydraulic tank was nearly empty. After a few cycles of being fully extended, it smoothly transitioned from retracted to fully extended. The only concern I have is that, because our splitter moves slowly, it may be a little too big for the pump and valve. Slower than the leaking POS from the tool. In any case, we now have a functional splitter that does not leak oil like the Exxon Valdez did. Lol. Thanks. This cylinder appears to be of good quality, so I would purchase it again.
My Dirty Hand Tools 28 ton log splitter was replaced by the cylinder, which worked perfectly. The way it was delivered was not to my liking. In a box, wrap one thin layer of bubble wrap around the cylinder. It had a few scratches, but not nearly as many as I had anticipated based on the box's condition. I would have given it five stars if the shipping had been better.
Although the cylinder appeared to be of good quality, I had to make some adjustments to the cylinder as well as my log splitter to make installation easier. Cylinder performed admirably and easily split even the toughest logs. This is a product that I would purchase again.
With a few tweaks, this can be mounted on a horizontal splitter from the 1970s. It works fine; I thought I had broken it at first, but it only took about 20 cycles before it was completely filled with fluid. I'm not a hydraulic mechanic by any stretch of the imagination.
It's well-made and has a lot of power. I would strongly advise anyone to purchase this product.
The cylinder on my old splitter blew a seal, so I had to replace it. It would cost $600 to repair/rebuild it at a local hydraulic shop. This was half the price of the original and is a perfect replacement.
