Is it possible to connect it to a propane outlet on an RV (low I appreciate it. ?

The 1lb mate perfectly with it. This gas kit includes a disposable propane tank and an NPT (National Pipe Tapered) shut off valve.

There is no way to mate the threads

purchased two of these fittings in order to make some adapters, but they don't seal with other fittings that well as the Mr. Heater version of this. The only way you can usually get it to do so is to crank it down really hard, but it is a pain and is evidence of poor quality control.
