This tubing is listed as 4mm tube OD or 5/32 tube OD. I was working on a machine with everything metric, and the air tubes I needed to connect to were 4mm in size. When the tube was pushed in, it became airtight It has a good snug fit. On the 1/4 inch npt end, I was able to thread a standard air fitting. It was exactly what I was looking for. My little part allowed me to replace a metric air fitting with a standard fitting and eliminate the metric fittings altogether. So I did not have to buy their outrageously overpriced air hose with metric fittings and could use a standard air hose available to anyone for a couple of dollars instead. It seems to be a good quality part, and I also like that they used metal for the release collar instead of plastic, for an extra touch of class. The documents I purchased were excellent. I would not hesitate to buy more if I ever needed.
My garage is much easier to work in with this extra air hose connector installed on my air compressor. You can use semi-rigid tubing to make connections on different parts of your walls and run air hose from one to another. Easily remove line back out in case you need to change something. Metal connectors of good quality.
This is the exact switch I needed for my air compressor. It has been two weeks since I replaced my barb fitting with a push lock fitting, and it is still holding up well. It was very easy to install and did not leak.
When ordering, make sure you have the tape and the blue stuff to go with them. No matter what tape you use, leaks occur all over. Whenever you need to fix a leak, it is necessary to turn them on and off.
In the bunch of fittings, one was looser on the tube than the others, and the tube slid out of the fittings. It worked fine for the rest.
It leaks even when using copper tubing instead of the usual plastic tubing, even when carefully deburred.
It does not leak from what I can tell from what I can see. So that's great, what else could you want from such an item.
It is extremely easy to install, just make the proper straight cuts on the hose, wrap the fitting with Teflon tape provided, and tighten well. All the way in, make sure the hose is all the way in. A leak in the system was not detected. It only takes one shot to push the air hose in, so take your time to ensure that it is cut well.
