With these valves, I have used 1/4" irrigation pipe, 1/4" clear air pipe, and 1/4" poly water pipe. These valves have not been a problem for me. I use them both in irrigation and pneumatic Neither a leak nor a leak. Across a few orders, the quality is consistently good. Their only complaint is that it took them a long time to come to the U.S.
The diameter of the tubing can make a difference. I've used a couple on 1/4 steel line, but most of mine is 1/4 stiff tubing (plastic).
A 1/4" tubing was used for these. The diameter of tubes is measured from the outside. If your tube has an inside diameter of 1/4" then you would use 1/4" tubing. You can wear them.

For my reverse osmosis system at home, I used this as a shut-off valve so that I could control how much water was Water was pouring out of the top of the valve one evening when I noticed water on the floor. The control knob popped out of the housing when I tried to fix it. Thank goodness, I had another valve before this and was able to shut off the water before it flooded. I would have had a big mess if I hadn't caught it. There is no obvious way to get the knob back on. In just seconds, I can insert it and pull it out with the same ease. The spare one I used was already in my possession. If the replacement is not as good as the old one, that would be very disappointing. We have a maximum water pressure of 40 psi in our house.
To turn the lever on my old ones, I had to hold the hose tight enough to get enough leverage.
The ones I've used haven't leaked, but I haven't used them all at once. This deal gives you ten cups for the price of two in store, so it is a good.
As a result of nearly one year of experience, I am raising my initial score to 4. Whenever I need these units, I turn to them The irrigation hoses do not leak if set properly, and they can fit in any irrigation pinch. As a matter of fact, I always have extras on hand.
The tubing has lost elasticity in the old system, but these end caps keep the ends from separating since they slip OVER the tubing and have an "O" ring built in to protect the ends.
Valve operation is simple with this type. It is especially helpful to switch off the ice maker on your refrigerator when something is wrong, so you can investigate the problem and correct it.
Valve life is only 3 years, after that they aren't so good Eventually, the valve becomes difficult to turn and seizes up after using it for six months.
