The 1/4 inch AIR line fitting was designed for this application. If you decide to use it for water, I recommend that you do not do so.
I'm pretty sure that it was initially designed to work with flexible plastic tubing, so if copper tubing fits the parameters, it might work well. It's made to work with 1/4" outside diameter pneumatic

A screw hole would be nice for mounting it in place, but that was the only feature I was missing.
Despite a straight cut end on the hose and an exact hose size, I was not able to make a good seal on either end. Furthermore, the valve has a maximum pressure limit of 50 PSI, which is practically useless for an air.
The valve works well and seems to leak very little. The only complaint I have is that the handle turns in a counterintuitive way. It is common for most valves to turn clockwise to close, but this one turns in the opposite direction.
FTP fittings are new to me, and I was very disappointed in the quality and ease of use associated with most of the brands I have tried. Both in terms of overall quality and ease of use, the Beduan fittings (this ball valve as well as an assortment of connectors) are a cut above the rest. Among the devices I have used, I have found them to be the most functional when it comes to disconnecting. This investment will pay off in the long run.
Having to work on our motorhome's toilet forced me to switch on the air-activated flushing system.
