There is a female flare at the end of the straight 5/8 thread. I did not measure the pitch. This is the same pitch as is used in natural gas oven connectors for residential use. An end with a taper is the male end The NPT size is 1/2.

My fireplace has a new gas burner, and I used this fitting to connect it. In terms of fittings, the 1/2" fitting that came with the new burner kit was too small to make it fit The outside diameter of my pipe is 5/8", so I went to the local plumbing supply store. My request was denied by an older gentleman who told me he was unable to assist me because there is no pipe I felt bad asking him, because he said it in such a way that made me feel bad about it. After I returned home and looked at the news, I decided- This is what I found on the line. My shirt fit perfectly today and I was happy to receive it. Other reviewers complained that it was soft, but I did not have any problems with it. Despite the fact that it was rather lightweight, it is quite sturdy and the fit was almost perfect. I am very pleased.
This is good.
This didn't end up being needed for the purpose I bought it for, so I can't speak to its I thought it was well made, but it didn't look like it would hold up well.
I added dopy to the pipe. Brass that is soft and overly soft Mechanics I screwed the brass nut on to the flare end of the black pipe elbow, and it fit, but when I gently loosened it (with appropriate gas pipe grease), a brass thread came out. As I looked at this one, I realized I must have made a mistake, so I bought another, finger tightened it, it was good, I added pipe dopy, finger tightened, then put the wrench on to turn, and another spiral came off. It went into a pipe cap shop and was fitted with a 1/2" black pipe cap. The end of the pipe cap was made hand tight using Torgue (trivial to apply if you understand foot pounds) and compressed by the cap. My HVAC certification is EPA certified, and I am not overtorquing anything, but this is only slightly harder than.
Please beware. was not accurate as I ordered six of these in need of a 1/2" NPT male and 5/8" female. Since I received 5/8" male and 3/4" female, I had to return them. My application would need much more space than what I currently have.
There is a lot of leakage. The situation is quite There is just a tiny bit of extra pipe in my pipe. In the end, this 5/8" ended up being too large.
It was an honor to speak with.
