I purchased four Campbell chains, each of which is marked C10 (Grade 100). Like with other chains, not every link is stamped. Every ten links or so, stampings are applied. In addition, the chain is made in the United States of America! The chain isn't plated, so keep that in mind. However, I've never seen a grade 100 that was in this condition. It's not that they don't exist; it's just that they're covered in a thick layer of grease. Depending on what you're going to use it for, you might want to remove it with a solvent. If you use it outside, it will rust on the surface; this isn't a problem! I'll take them all. I hope this has been of assistance.
It doesn't have a gleam to it. What they mean by bright is a mystery to me. It comes with a film of dark grease in a sealed plastic bag to help prevent rust, but if exposed to the elements after removing the grease, it will develop film rust. I purchased four of them and am very pleased with them. Made in the United States of America. They aren't attractive, but they are durable.

This isn't the chain for you if you're looking for something bright or silvery. This chain has a dull appearance to it. I didn't expect grade 100 chain to be bright, so I didn't expect it to be. The chain is coated in a thin layer of oily grease, as mentioned by another reviewer. I photographed the chain after washing it three times with Dawn dish soap to show how it looks when it's brand new. clean. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five is that the chain is not marked or stamped in any way that indicates it is grade 100. As a result, you must either be knowledgeable about chains or trust the seller that the chain is indeed grade 100. Another reason is that the description makes you think the chain is a gleaming alloy chain. it isn't. According to what I've learned, grade 100 chain has more alloy content than lower grades, but it's rarely bright in color. You can see what I mean if you look up images of grade 100 chain on Google. Aside from those two minor quibbles, it's a fantastic chain, very heavy at 5 feet and weighing in at around 12 pounds. the weight of five pounds It's a full 5 feet long.
