The width of the column is 2mm. 3 millimeters is how thick it is. I felt a difference when I did this. Two rolls I ordered were both shorter than I expected by nine feet, and the third one was seven feet short. I would have paid more to get something that was 5 feet shorter. Took over a week to receive. **Disappointing.
