With a wire cutter or a pair of pliers with the indented wire cutter, you can cut them. At least, I will not have to replace them when the first one falls apart. This is a lanyard-type chain or a light bulb pull with a material and construction similar to putting a light bulb on your finger.

The white chain I received is very difficult to find, but it perfectly fits my existing fans. would have preferred more connectors, but it worked as described and was exactly as advertised.

This chain is made up of links. There is no problem. I am very pleased with my purchase this is a small purchase that works as described and so I am extremely pleased with it.
They are extremely well made The only thing we would like is if the chains came with two connectors.
My patio is going to look great with this. Everything was delivered in time and without a hitch.
I was able to use it with my ceiling fan chain with no problems. This would have been better if it were longer.
You need to extend the chains if the ceiling height is 12' and the fans have 2' chains.
