Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. There are no vents in the back. When the kegerator is not plugged in, the cover is to be used.

My Edgestar is a 15-inch model with a 39-inch screen. 5" is barely tall enough to reach the keg's top, let alone cover the tower? Isn't the tower also covered in the photo?

The sizes of Kegco brand units will be used to create this cover.
