Questions & Answers

Will this product work as a retrofit for the single tap on a KeggerMeister KM2800BK Kegerator Beer Keg Fridge Brew Dispenser?

I'm sorry, Christopher, but I'm not sure. Because the base with the screws was wider than the base that came with the kegerator, I had to rig it up a little. From the tap to the keg, the tubing was snugly fitted. It was a calculated risk that paid off handsomely. Best of luck!

In order to install the tower, what size hole do you drill in the countertop?

Greetings, Megan, and thank you for your inquiry. In order to install the tower, you'll need to drill two (2) inch holes in the countertop. Is it true that the faucets are all made of stainless steel?

Hello, Martin, and thank you for your inquiry. While the tower is stainless steel, the faucets are chrome with a brass lever, but they have a similar appearance to the stainless steel version. That's exactly what I needed! This item was purchased to transform an old mini fridge into a focal point for my man cave
5/5

It was exactly what the doctor had prescribed. Each item arrived individually packaged in a larger box, with no signs of damage from the relatively quick shipping process. All of the components are well-made, and I expect the tower and tap to last for many years. This is an item that you cannot go wrong with. br>br>Here are some ideas for those considering converting: 1. br>br> When deciding between a one-tap tower and a multi-tap tower, it's important to consider the following factors. a two-tap tower Keep in mind that keg beer is unpasteurized and only lasts a day. 5 months. The smallest standard keg (1/6 barrel) can hold about 5 people. 3 gallons of water So, unless you regularly have a large number of beer drinkers, a two-tap tower may be an unnecessary expense. br>br>2. A new mini-van is not something I would recommend. If you drill the beer line hole in the wrong place, you risk destroying your fridge. After a few days of searching online (Craigslist), I was able to locate a used one for $60 that met my needs (look for one without a freezer). 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. There are numerous videos online that demonstrate the conversion process and how not to damage your refrigerator, so once you have this kit, the entire process should take no more than 30 minutes from start to finish. 4. br>br> CO2 can be purchased for much less at a gas supply store than it can at a beverage supply store. Airgas National Welders in South Carolina offers a food-grade CO2 refill for $15. br>br>I hope this information is useful to you and that you enjoy your kit as much as I do. Have fun with your drinking!.

It's two times better
5/5

It gets two thumbs up! Compared to my previous regulator, this one keeps the pressure much better. With the help of this kit, I was able to convert my single tap kegerator to a double tap. The tap comes with everything you need and can easily be converted from a single to a double. However, there is one cautionary note. This is slightly larger than a single tower in diameter. It's possible that you'll have to drill new holes in the fridge's top casing. Mine had a small gap between the tower's base and the refrigerator's top. To close the gap and keep the cold air from escaping, I used some insulation foam from a can. There's no need to be concerned. The tap handle was very loose when it was first installed, and any slight jar would cause the tap to open, allowing stale beer to flow out. The tap has become stiff after a few months. I haven't played around with it yet to see if it can be tweaked. There isn't one, at least not in my opinion. Please share if you know how to change it. Apart from those minor flaws, this double tower is one of my favorites. Now I can keep two smaller kegs in my mini fridge and have twice as many flavors. Amazon has delivered yet again with a fantastic purchase. This is something I would strongly suggest to anyone looking to increase their drinking pleasure by a factor of two.

This is a good upgrade, but it could be even better
3/5

This was purchased to go with a Nostalgia Electric single tap kegerator. It took the place of a two. The quality of the hardware components is all pretty good, and I'll be sure to test it out during the Super Bowl. 5" tower after a little bit of work to the top of the kegerator with a drill and some rivet nuts I had a couple of issues with the kit, two of which were relatively simple to resolve. The regulator's Y fitting and the two shut-off valves were both a little loose. It was fixed with a ratchet wrench. One of the valves was so loose that I was able to tighten it by hand, and the other issue is with the tower's insulation, or lack thereof. It came with a piece of thin foam that looked more like packing foam wrap than pipe insulation because it was only an 1/8" thick at best, which I removed and replaced with a piece of pipe insulation with an OD of 2 5/8" that fit perfectly. Last but not least, there are only four beer lines. The airlines are about the same length as the airlines, which are 5' long. I haven't tried to lengthen them yet, but I'll probably get some barbed couplings, clamps, and more tubing later, but first I'll see how much the beer foams. br>br>2/12/2014 UPDATE: I used the system for the Super Bowl and had a few issues with it, including one side not receiving CO2, which I'm not sure was due to a regulator issue or something else. A few days later, when the line side pressure was 2 psi, I discovered it. I double-checked the connections and looked for any issues, then increased the pressure and the problem was solved. After possibly a full sixtel (likely less) of beer from the two kegs, my CO2 bottle is empty a week later. Got my 2. Filling a 5 pound bottle and checking for leaks revealed that everything at the "Y" fitting was leaking. Both valves are connected to the "Y," which is connected to the regulator. It's possible that I didn't tighten them enough the first time. I couldn't get one of the valves to stop leaking, so I removed it and all of the teflon tape, then had to apply more, probably close to ten times. It took 15 wraps for soapy water to stop making bubbles. I looked in other places and didn't find any more leaks, but only time will tell if I was successful in finding them all. I'm hoping they're all fixed now, because I don't want to lose all of my CO2 before the beer runs out. I'd rather give it a score of two. After the most recent issue, I'd give it five stars if I could, but I can't give or take a half-star. 2/27/2014 UPDATE: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b This kit's rating has now dropped to one star, according to another update. The regulator included with the unit is defective. It simply does not work, despite all of the leaks. I couldn't get it to keep the serving pressure constant. It'd either be set to 8 o'clock or it'd be set to 9 o' You could be at 10 psi one minute and 30 psi the next, or you couldn't get the pressure to rise at all. Unfortunately, it usually increased gradually, and my kegerator is now a shambles because it forced beer out of the lines at the faucet when it was overpressurized, and the beer leaked down into and onto everything inside the kegerator. "We frequently have regulator issues," the seller said when I contacted him. "Here are instructions to fix it yourself. " Unfortunately, it took several attempts for them to send the instructions. Needless to say, after I finally got the instructions and dismantled the regulator, there was nothing inside that was causing a problem, so I reassembled it, and would you believe it is still broken? Now all I have to do is try to get a refund. Fortunately, the kegerator's regulator is in good working order, so I simply swapped the Y fitting over to it. If I could buy it all over again, I'd spend another $20-$30. 30 elsewhere and get a different kit from a different vendor, as this one isn't up to any kind of standard.

It really works
5/5

I recently acquired a Kegerator, which I refurbished. I removed the tank, as well as all of the inner piping. It was very simple to replace everything with this kit. All of the components I needed were included, along with detailed instructions on how to put them together. The only issue I encountered during installation was that the new pillar was not the same size as the one that had previously been installed. This necessitated drilling three new holes, but it was simple after that. Finding a location to refill the CO2 tank was the most difficult part.

This is ideal for a home bar
5/5

The design is functional; the only issue I have is with the bottle's logistics, which is not the fault of the product; if you have your own CO2 bottle, many places will not fill it unless you purchase a swap program. To any potential buyers, please double-check that you can fill this bottle, and if you can't, simply purchase the version without a tank. Local fire extinguisher stores come highly recommended by me. I'd also suggest getting some insulation for when you cut the fridge open.
