Questions & Answers

Should I leave the keg coupler and CO2 off while I'm gone?

If you're going to leave it for a while, clean the lines and faucet and cover the faucet with a tight-fitting nozzle cover, but leave the CO2 on. Once a keg is tapped, it should be kept under pressure until it is completely empty.

What is the shelf life of beer? How often should CO2 be replaced, and where can you get it? Is it true that smaller kegs last longer? What method do you use to clean and when do you do it?

You can get a couple of months out of a keg if you use the right CO2. Five to six half kegs can be made out of a five gallon CO2. Smaller kegs should, in theory, be used more quickly and thus stay fresher longer. The size of the keg has no bearing on the freshness of the beer if it has been in the keg for two months. Cleaning the lines after each full keg is a must. This is a simple task that takes only 45 minutes to complete.

Will it be able to hold two corny kegs in the new style?

It will, in fact.

Is it possible to use this device outside?

It depends on your climate and where you're going to put it, in my opinion. It has standard fridge insulation, but depending on the size of keg you put in or if you convert it to a dual tap, which is very simple if you're using Korney kegs, you might have to keep the CO2 tank outside. To taste and maintain proper carbonation, keep a CO2 unit cold (you can't even get a tank refilled if it's warm). Because I live in the desert, it's too hot to keep it outside in the summer, and the lines would freeze in the winter, preventing the beer from reaching the proper temperature. If you lived in a temperate climate and kept the unit out of the sun, it might work, but I'm not sure about the quality of beer you'd get out of it, especially if it's homebrew.

If your kegerator isn't working, you should know what to do
5/5

The product includes a cO2 canister that is not filled with cO2. I'm guessing you can't mail pressurized gas canisters, so it's empty. If you want to have it ready for a date, make sure you find a company that sells carbon dioxide. If you don't go there and get it filled, your Keg will not work. In fact, purchase a backup canister. If this is your first kegerator, you'll burn through your first canister of CO2 trying to figure it out in one night. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br There are TWO different kinds of taps: It doesn't matter whether it's foreign or domestic. If you want to drink a foreign beer, such as Heineken, you'll need to purchase an imported beer tap. A DOMESTIC tap is included in this unit. If you want to try imported brands, order a "European Keg Coupler. " 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. Make sure you keep an eye on the pressure. This isn't a "set it and forget it" situation. After the initial setup, you'll need to check on the keg every few hours to fine-tune the pressure. Fortunately, bringing a glass makes this a less onerous task. However, don't expect to go anywhere that day. br>br>If a man doesn't already have one, this is a must-do on his bucket list. It's a lot of fun, and the beer tastes a lot better. No more unsightly beer bottles clogging up the curbside recycling bin! This was an excellent purchase. "Why didn't I do this ten years ago?" is a question that comes to mind. " sort of thing.

There are no regrets about this purchase
5/5

I was a little hesitant to buy it because there were so many negative reviews, but so far, everything has gone well. This is something I'm completely enamored with. It doesn't take up a lot of room, runs quietly, keeps beer ice cold (even on the highest setting), has an insulted tower to keep it cold all the way to the glass, can hold a full size keg of Molson Canadian (my favorite), and, despite what some monkeys said, was very simple to put together. The most difficult part, as with any kegerator, is finding the right regulator for your brand of beer. I got a 5 co2 tank filled for $13 at my local home brew shop, tossed in a keg, hooked up the coupler, dialed in the psi as best I could, and began enjoying great draft beer. I've got it pretty close to the ideal psi of 9-. Every beer is different, but for the most part, most American lagers seem to be fine (elevation not taken into account). You may want to purchase a cleaning kit, faucet plugs, and possibly a dual gage regulator in addition to what comes with it. Aside from that, it comes with everything you'll need except gas and beer. However, if you're looking for a reasonably priced single tap, this is the one for you. br>Another thing to keep in mind is that Don't forget about the co2 tank's plastic washer, which goes on the line between the tank and the coupler. I went to Home Depot to buy one because I thought I'd misplaced it or didn't get a second washer, only to discover it on the tank while fiddling with the regulator.

It was in excellent condition when it arrived
4/5

In my opinion, there are three things. Since August, I've been using this kegerator, which I purchased here and received in excellent condition. When you get this, there are three things you should do, in my opinion. You should change the diameter of the beer line. line (better pour), and you'll need a draft arm wrench (to upgrade the line), as well as a new faucet. The reason for a new faucet is that after not tapping a beer for a few days, the faucet becomes extremely sticky when you try to pour a beer. The faucet, on the other hand, works fine after the first pour; I paid around $220 for it after signing up for an Amazon credit card, and I think it's a good deal!.

cave - And, believe it or not, I swear I saw a tear (which he will deny). I couldn't tell you how to assemble it because I had it built by someone else - But it's still a lot of fun!.

Kegerator is fantastic
4/5

This kegerator was a Christmas present for my boyfriend, and he absolutely adores it. br>br>I ordered it through Amazon Prime and received it in two days. There were no dents in the packaging. One of the removable shelves was bent, but this was not a problem because we plan to use 1/2 barrel kegs the majority of the time, so both shelves would have to be removed anyway. Because of the directions, I didn't give it 5 stars! They don't make sense! I'd suggest watching as many YouTube videos about the assembly as possible. Some parts, such as the color of the CO2 tubing, are not as described by others who have reviewed them on this site. When we first tapped the keg, we used the wrong washer for the beer line to coupler connection, which caused a problem. Also, don't forget to leave the duck bill in the CO2 line! We had no problems exchanging the CO2 tank at a local welding supply shop after we figured those out. Overall, the kegerator has performed admirably! We're on our second half-barrel keg of Miller Lite, and guests love coming over to drink it. When it came to buying it, the most important consideration was whether it would fit MillerCoors 1/2 barrel kegs. Check with your distributor to see if they have standard 1/2 barrel MillerCoors kegs rather than the oversized rubberized ones. We haven't had any problems so far. For first-time kegerator users, I would highly recommend this product!.

Setting this up was a breeze
5/5

Setting this up was a breeze. br>br>A word of caution to those who are putting it together for the first time: make sure the gaskets are properly mated to the fittings. The keg tapper to supply line gasket was slightly off center, and a small leak developed. Thankfully, there were a few extras. I swapped out gaskets once I figured out what was wrong, and it's been working fine since then. br>br>Also, when tightening fittings, don't be gentle. Expect leaks if you do not tighten them up.
