Questions & Answers
It will. The internal components are of excellent quality.
It was extremely quiet. It's in my living room right now. Even when the blower is turned on full blast, there is a faint background noise. Many units on the market are far quieter than this one.
It doesn't matter what kind of beer you're drinking. It'll work with a quarter-barrel or smaller. It will not fit in half-barrels like those found in restaurants.
I bought the stainless steel version, which has a matching handle. The black model is one I'm not sure about. Mine has been in my garage for about two years. It's still performing admirably.

Advantages - It's well-designed. I liked the configuration options it provided (feet vs. casters, RH vs. LH door swing, longer screws for countertop mount vs. as shown mounted to the top of the unit). It was well-protected against damage and packaged well. As promised, it arrived quickly. Overall, the construction appears to be solid, with above-average fit and finish. br>br>Opportunities include the following: The drip tray appears to be out of place because it simply sits on top of the unit and isn't finished off in any way. I routered an insert into a countertop so it would inlay properly, but I wouldn't like the look of it as is if used as a freestanding unit. The light was dangling from the unit, so we had to figure out how to mount it. The valve that pours has little pressure in the closing position, so if it is bumped, rolled around, has a too heavy tap handle, or is pressurized with CO2, it will drip. In a few areas, the instructions were either incomplete or incoherent. A template for tracing the drill holes for the draft tower and its mounting holes would have been helpful. br>br>Finishing Touches - It's a nice-looking piece of gear, and once I get it set up and figured out, there's not much I don't like about it. It is something that I would suggest.
Only the finest materials were used in the construction of this project. It's great that you can get down to almost zero degrees Celsius. The CO2 fits inside, and it's only 15" wide; you'll need to modify the outlet for a Corny, but that's not a big deal. What a significant improvement!.
This is a fantastic product; the beer stays cold for a long time and it's simple to use once it's set up. br>I drilled four 1/4" holes about 3/4" down into Colonial White Granite to mount the beer tower. Between the kegerator and the beer tower, I used 2" PVC as well as insulation wrap. br>br>A fully charged CO2 tank will last for several quarter kegs. br>br>It fits a tall Yuengling quarter keg snugly and keeps it cold for a long time (most quarter kegs appear to be tall). br>br>The directions could have been clearer because I am a beginner, but it wasn't too difficult.
It was simple to put together and looks fantastic with my new counters and tops. We used a piece of PVC that extended up into the tower and down onto the top of the fan blower tube to insulate the gap between the top of the machine and the bottom of the countertops, which was a little tricky. I've kept the beer very cold by minimizing air loss. I've had it for ten days and haven't had any issues. Craft beers, which are typically only available in 1/6 barrels, are easy to change out kegs, and their small size is no problem.
In general, I'm pleased with the product. There are a few things to keep in mind:
- Overall, the stainless cladding is of good quality. in keeping with the low cost; It'll do the job, but don't expect a high-end finish or seams.
- In comparison to many other models on the market, the unit is extremely quiet. Quite impressive. br>- While a temperature of 32 degrees is advertised, After 72 hours in a room with no direct sunlight and air conditioning set to 71 degrees Fahrenheit, my unit had dropped to 36 degrees Fahrenheit. I like my beer cold, but I'd like it a few degrees colder.
The temperature does not reach 32 degrees. If you don't have enough space for a half-keg unit, this is a good option. My only complaint is that, despite being set to 32 degrees, the temperature has not dipped below 36 degrees after a week of use, which is disappointing if you prefer your beer colder.
Yes, it is expensive, but it is of the highest quality. It's a night and day difference between this unit and the one on the left in the photo (in terms of construction and quality only).
The directions aren't very good! However, once you've UTube'd it, it's fine; however, you'll be disappointed that Edgestar does not provide it. It looks great, and it's a high-quality kegerator for your home. If you don't let your kegerator settle for at least an hour, if not two, after transporting it home, you'll end up with foam. I adore it, but I had to learn a few tricks to get the most out of it. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
