With the lid on, the overall height is 1/8ths of an inch from the highest point on the lid rim to the highest point on the lid rim. Internal dimensions vary due to the flared walls from bottom to top, as well as the fact that all walls are buttressed in the middle, as seen from the outside. At the bottom, the minimum dimensions are 12 inches by 12 inches. 1/4 x 20- 3/8. The top must be 14 x 21 inches in size. 5/8. With the lid in place, the interior height is 13 inches. 7/8. Because the lid is recessed into the interior, the interior height is an inch higher when the lid is not in use.
There are no holes in the bottom of the container. Waterproofing would have to be tested; there's no way to know unless you put water in it and test it!
The box is made of heavy-duty cardboard. The lids, on the other hand, are in a different league. Simply by stacking these boxes on top of each other, three of them have cracked or torn along the edge (out of about 50). Two of the failed projects had a total of less than 100 people involved. 130 pounds of weight was placed on top of them gently. They appear to have broken as the storage space warmed up after the winter (it's a "heated space," so there's no freezing, but it still gets hotter once the sun shines in the spring). ) It was a little inconvenient to discover three boxes had fallen forward from the wall and onto the floor, with the lid on the bottom one failing. The third broke during a fairly rough (but not particularly "brutish") transfer onto a truck bed, so it was perhaps less alarming. br>The lids are a little on the thin side. Not as flimsy as many of the non-commercial cost-cutting exercises on the market. But it's definitely an area where I'd add a mil or two if I could, because they don't quite live up to what I consider "Brute" use.
I'm not sure about the UV plastic, but I use mine for camping and going out to my property every two weeks or so. They've been used 3 times a month with no problems. They appear to be very tough and water-resistant. They are well worth the money.

They're stacked five high in my office. high. They're big, sturdy totes with a lot of weight. br>Lids are secured with a strong snap. br>Be cautious. They arrive in separate packages! So, if you order ten of these, you'll get ten huge UPS boxes delivered to your door!.
I've had regular Rubbermaid totes for over 20 years, but this more expensive Brute container only lasted three years. 1 and a half years This is the first time I've ever seen a storage container act like this. It was only used in the basement for storage, not outside. Now I'm worried that the other two I bought at the same time will break down as well.
The lid closes tightly (but not completely). Unlike most storage containers, this one is a little bit thicker. The grips are strong. The lid closes tightly (not completely airtight, but close enough). br>Easy to stack and store. br>The internal dimensions are slightly larger at the top (22 x 14) than they are at the bottom (20). 5 x 12. 25).
Internal dimensions are only a fraction of those listed on Amazon's page, which are essentially equal to those of a box that would hold this container. After reading all of the reviews, I was fairly confident that the dimensions would be sufficient for my needs. I should've exercised greater caution! Internal dimensions are much smaller than expected, thanks to a generous lip, protruding handles, and a taper on all four sides. 12" x 20" is the smallest size available. I'm a little under 15 inches tall.
When stacked and transported, almost all of them cracked, especially the tops. We also bought containers (black with yellow tops) for a third of the price (and slightly larger) at BJs and Costco, and they all held up well in the move, with no cracks. I'm extremely disappointed!.
Unfortunately, the product was broken near the handle and there was no evidence of damage to the shipping box when it arrived. This container's material is brittle and susceptible to cracking, as evidenced by the fact that it was cracked during shipping.
Heavy-duty construction. It's where I keep my aquaponics rock garden. It's made up of rock-like materials, and it fills up with water and drains every 15 minutes, putting a tremendous amount of strain on the box. I bought the brute in the hopes that it would last and not burst; it has held up well and flexes a little, but I don't think it will burst.
2015 UPDATE - 18 at 08: 08br>br>After several months of use, I've discovered that if these sides are stacked full of heavy items, they can and will crack. For example, I have several large bins filled with various types of paper (two full reams, blank notebooks, and legal pads), as well as other supplies. Office supplies, as well as computer and electronics items (small HDDs, wires and cables, and so on). I loaded them onto a hand truck by stacking three on top of each other. On two separate occasions, I discovered one of the bins cracked on the side while going down the stairs with the totes on the hand truck (with a slight bounce). br>br> If the bins are filled and stacked more than three high, the lids may crack. br>br>These are still a good product, and far superior to the consumer totes that Rubbermaid sells. And if shelved and stacked no more than two high or individually on shelves, they will most likely last without cracking. However, as the BRUTE label would imply, these do not stack for long-term storage as well as they should, nor can they be transported on a hand truck without cracking, as the BRUTE label would imply. If you're in the business of using this type of plastic tote, I think it's worth the extra money. br>br>My only gripe is that Amazon ships them in these massive boxes with the tote as the only item inside. Because these appear to be more difficult to find in stores than consumer totes, buyers should be aware that if they buy in bulk, their receipt area will be crammed with enormous boxes. The homestead does not appear to be in good shape.
