Questions & Answers

What is the maximum weight capacity of these dollies in pounds? I'm thinking about buying two sets and using them as wheel dollies for a VW bug that weighs around 2500 pounds. ?

On smooth concrete, I believe you'd be fine in a VW. It's something I'd do if the opportunity presented itself.

Is this something that can be done on a gravel surface?

They might be able to. It might work if the gravel is compacted and there aren't any large rocks. It also depends on the weight of your sled. These dollies, on the other hand, have a chance.

Is it possible to drive the snowmobile into the garage with the ski dollies attached?

That is something we have never attempted before. Each individual's circumstance is unique. We simply back the machines up to the garage and place dollies beneath the skis to prevent them from scratching the concrete! 😱. After that, they're set up to simply drive out of the garage. Actually, we keep the dollies beneath us until we hit the snow, at which point they spit them out. They do a fantastic job! We'd buy them again if the opportunity presented itself.

I see that buckle straps are used to secure the ski to the dolly in the video, but the pictures show velcro. Can anyone tell me which is actually used?

Straps made of Velcro. They do an excellent job of holding the ski in place.

Selected User Reviews For Extreme Max 5800.0232 V-Slides Snowmobile Dolly System - Steel, Black

The product isn't up to par! This is the first time I've ever written a review for anything I've bought on Amazon
3/5

I'm not a grumbler in the least. With that said, this product simply did not last! The rear dolly literally bent beyond belief the first time it rolled over a small crack in the driveway. Look at the image. Before purchasing this product, I did some research and came across some positive and negative reviews, thinking that since there were more positive than negative reviews, the negatives must be due to user error. This is not the case, as I can assure you. Because it bends so easily, the stamped plate must be made of an extremely weak aluminum. Other complaints mentioned the wheels breaking down in a short period of time; I did not have that experience, but having seen them firsthand, I can tell they are not of high quality. Castor of excellent quality. On Amazon, there were a plethora of options for this type of product, and this was far from the cheapest option. It was, in fact, one of the more costly ones. I bought two of these sets in the hopes of getting a better deal than the cheaper ones. It's disappointing to discover that this is not the case. Be careful who you buy from.

The caster wheels themselves are of good quality
3/5

I'm not pleased with the aluminum extreme Max snowmobile Dolly's attempt to roll my new 2021 grand touring Ski-Doo. On a smooth floor, Doo is difficult to do, and the Castor wheels are of poor quality. So now I'm on the lookout for something better, and I'm willing to take a chance on these.

I'm very pleased with these dollies and would recommend them to anyone
5/5

I read a few reviews before buying them, and I'm very pleased with my decision. I've had no problems with them moving a couple of snowmobiles and my winter snow plow. Platforms made of heavy-gauge steel with solid wheels and heavy-duty casters. Spend an extra $20 and you'll get a higher-quality product.

Great Group of People! After a year, all of the dollies have become useless
5/5

The casters quickly disintegrate, scattering bearings across your floor. These aren't worth a dime; instead, spend a little more and get a good set of casters. Remove yourself from the situation. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> br>I used the email address listed below after being advised by another commenter. Customer service responded almost immediately, and I've raised my rating to reflect good customer service, which is a dying aspect of transactions in today's business mindsets. If the replacement casters are of higher quality, I will make a note of it. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> br>Today, I got the new casters. It was clear right away when I opened them that they were a high-quality caster that could withstand some abuse. Overall, I'm a big fan of the business. My only suggestion is that they change the email address on their website from to. biz to . com I've since improved my rating and would now recommend them solely for their customer service; this company provides customer service that is hard to come by these days!.

The track dolly is only good for single carbides
3/5

Overall, these dolls outperform the majority of other brands. The front dollies are very sturdy and fit snugly around the front struts; however, if you have dual carbides, the dollies will still work but will sit a little rough on the V-brake. opening. br>br>The rear dolly is poorly designed and fails to support the weight of my 2013 Arctic Cat Turbo 1100. There is a lot of angular force on the aluminum mounts due to the geometry of the mounting holes and the axis of the wheels, and they bend very easily, making moving the rear difficult, and at times (going in) impossible. It's impossible to get out of my closed trailer. To straighten the dolly, I had to remove and reinstall the wheels several times; the frame still bends, even on a perfectly flat garage floor, and the frame is now showing signs of metal fatigue.

Versions made of aluminum are a waste of money! I wanted aluminum because I didn't want them to rust, but they're far too flimsy
3/5

They bend easily and don't roll after that. The lame star washers also prevent the casters from staying tight. br>They are costly and do not last. I have two sets, both of which I regret purchasing.

Unfortunately, some of the paint on one of the dollies had chipped off, resulting in a poor product and unmatched customer service
5/5

I immediately dialed the number listed on the product and spoke with Nick in the power sports department, informing him that the product had arrived in less-than-new condition. Let's condense a long story by saying he went out of his way to make it right, no questions asked. This is the way customer service should be done! br>br>It goes without saying that Extreme Max, particularly Nick, has blown me away. Because it is the people who are important. br>br>Now, as for the dollies, the paint may have chipped, but they still function properly. Steel platforms are thick and finished. The nylon velcro straps are functional, and there are no extra parts that could get in the way or break. The wheels are quiet and easy to turn. The fact that the wheels must be bolted to the platforms was brought up by a few people on here. That's probably due to the fact that it ships faster and for less money. With the help of a power drill, I was able to install the wheels in 3 minutes. br>br>Extreme Max, Nick, and their products will always have my support.

Strong and a pleasure to roll! These items are incredible
5/5

I finally finished putting them together and sliding them under my Vector LTX, which is a colossal sled. No problem at all; the steel units easily support the weight, and it glides across my not-so-flat floor. Garage floor that is perfectly level. I'm glad I bought these and regret not putting them together sooner. br>br>Note: The price was well worth it. br>br> If you have a heavy sled or are concerned about damaging it, get the steel ones instead. They're well-made and sturdy.
