Questions & Answers

It clunks when I rotate the filter from end to end. Is this something that happens frequently?

Yes, a flow induction vane made of plastic is loosely fitted inside.

Is there a noticeable pressure drop with this filter, given that I have two sediment prefilters before it? Is it safe to use this filter throughout the house?

This could work for a whole house, but it would depend on total water consumption and other factors. An older question, but for those who may be interested: This could work for a whole house, but it would depend on total water consumption and other factors. For the past two years, we've been using it throughout our entire home (2. (Size: 5x10 inches) We have two people, a front-loading washing machine that uses less water, a dishwasher that uses less water, and we try to conserve water in general. We pre- Prior to this filter, reduce the size of the filter to 1 micron. In most cases, we replace the pre-existing pre-existing pre-existing every 3 filters months, with this filter being applied every six months. months. A great deal will be determined by the quality of your source water (i.e. , how often you change your filters), how much water you use, and how often you change the pre-filter one or more filters In any case, you'll probably notice a decrease in water pressure. Filtering to zero is unavoidable. This filter is by far the best (i.e. 5 micron) in my experience. , as well as a slew of other 0 Filters with a micron rating of 5 microns are installed throughout the house. You should use the larger version of this filter (4.) to get the most out of it. 5 vs 2. 5 width; This, as well as the preceding, There should be less of a pressure drop as a result of the filters.

Is this a 20bb or a floplus20? Filters and housing are completely different. If that's the case, then the description is incorrect. as well as the cost ?

I ordered the smaller floplus20 from Amazon and received it in two days. Rather than 4, use 5" 5" and only 20k gallons, versus the wider floplus20bb's 50k gallons. I asked for a replacement because I thought it was a mistake, and they sent me another floplus20. Purchases should be avoided. You're being taken advantage of! They might be able to get away with it if they use toilet paper or paper towels. Smaller rolls than you'd find in a local store are being sent. When it comes to filters, the smaller size makes a significant difference in both performance and price, and you're overpaying by about $30. 00, and I'm getting about half of the filter. This is a classic case of bait and switch. It should be against the law! Amazon, you should be ashamed of yourself. Is this your strategy for making Jeff's next $50 billion? When does it become acceptable to take advantage of your customers by selling inferior products in place of originals or counterfeit goods in place of name brands? Who has to suffer in order for you to return to doing the right thing? Now that you've established a successful local business with reasonable prices, do you believe people have no choice but to accept bait and switch or counterfeit goods? What is the location of your moral compass?

Is it possible to clean the filters?

The activated carbon adsorbs (rather than absorbs) chlorine and other chemicals, including those that affect taste, and "flushing" the filter will deplete any remaining activated carbon. Furthermore, flushing will not allow any particulate contaminants to be dislodged. If this were possible, the filter would have done it all along, and the particles would not have been trapped as they should have been.

They aren't as durable as they once were
3/5

I've been using this FloPlus-based software for quite some time now. The RFC-based 20BB filter, as well as the RFC-based RFC-based RFC-based RFC-based 20BB, as well as the DGD- 2501- For about 6 years, on south Florida city water, 20 upstream of this filter. br>br>Normally, I get one. Depending on the conditions, 2 years out of the set of filters. The most recent FloPlus-based product is the FloPlus-based FloPlus-based 20BB, which was ordered on May 27, 2021, has already been completed (as of today, October 8, 2021). Drop in pressure across the FloPlus-equipped FloPlus-equipped FloPlus- equipped FloPlus I have almost no water pressure in my house because 20BB is about 40 PSI. Both of the upstream filters are working fine - There was about a 3 PSI drop when all of them were added together. br>br>Amazon customer service refused to help because the order had been fulfilled by a third-party seller. Why should I be concerned about who sells the filter to me? Amazon was where I placed my order. Amazon should implement FFIO to address the issue. I'm well past the 30-day return period, so I'm pretty much out of luck. br>br>Hopefully it was just a bad filter and this is a one-time occurrence. I'll give it one more shot, but if it turns out to be another dud, I'm not ordering this filter again. It's a shame, because when you find a good one, it's an EXCELLENT filter that complements the RFC-based RFC-based RFC-based RFC-based RFC-based RFC-based RFC-based RFC-based RFC-based RFC- 20BB, as well as the DGD- 2501- Nicely done, 20!.

It's fantastic - 6 months on city water with no pre-treatment filter
5/5

I live in a city where the water has a long history of being hard and containing harmful chemicals. We installed a softener when we bought our house, but it still caused skin irritation after long showers and necessitated the use of a filter pitcher to get drinkable water. When we bought the house, we had to replace the entire water system with a Pex water system, so I knew the chemicals weren't coming from the inside. br>br>After the water softener, I installed a dual filter consisting of two "Big Blue" Pentek units, one with a pleated sediment filter and the other with this carbon filter. It had a huge impact right away. Our cold water was immediately drinkable (though we still prefer to chill it in the brita pitcher in the fridge), and skin irritations and dry skin disappeared after two or three showers cleared out the contents of our hot water heater. br>br>After about 6 months, we had to replace the filters due to a noticeable drop in pressure across the filtration system, as well as a return of skin irritation. The previously white pleated filter had turned a light shade of green due to chlorine contamination, and both filters had a slick contaminate film on the inbound water gasket. The pressure loss and skin irritations were quickly resolved after the replacement. br>br>I also like that this filter is NSF/ANSI 53 certified, which means it has the highest level of lead removal short of a reverse osmosis system. We have lead in our water because we live in an old industrial city with lead supply pipes, so removing it is a top priority for us.

At just over 11k gallons, it's no longer usable, despite being rated for 50k gallons
3/5

This filter is supposed to last 50k gallons, but after only a month, there isn't enough water pressure to keep the tankless water heater running reliably - When you turn on a second faucet while something else is running, the flow drops to a trickle. Keep in mind that I'm using city water with a consistently high PSI of over 60. br>br>At just over 11k gallons, we use about 15 CCF per month, so this was no longer usable! br>br>And, before you think my water is dirty because I'm plugging the filter early, keep in mind that I'm already filtering to 1 micron before water passes through this filter (I'm using a three-filter big blue setup), and the San Francisco area has excellent water quality.

Is the Pentek FloPlus-X available on Amazon right now? Filter cartridge with the number 20BB? (size: 20in H x 4in W) 63 inches in diameter
3/5

This filter cartridge was purchased as a direct replacement for the same model that I installed a year ago in my home. As a result, I'm going to tell you about my experience trying to get a replacement on Amazon. I believe I recently read comments on this site from others who were perplexed by Amazon's handling of this specific Pentek model replacement cartridge. To put it bluntly, the item I received the other day was not the one I had ordered. br>br>I'm not in a position to comment on how the FloPlus- Because I have it installed as a finishing filter downstream from a Whirlpool model WHELJ1 automatic back-up water filter, I don't know how well the 20BB model cartridge performs as a whole house water filter or how long it will last in that capacity. filter to be flushed The Whirlpool serves as my whole-house filter for all water flow within the house, with the Pentek FloPlus BB20 plumbed into a branch after the Whirlpool to sweeten only the cold water taps in the kitchen and bath vanity for drinking water use. It has been working very well for the past year in this capacity as the "after filter" for only a small portion of my total house water flow on the original cartridge, with no end in sight. The water pressure at the faucet is still adequate, and the entire setup, including both the Whirlpool and the Pentek, has performed admirably over the past year. The Whirlpool filters the water down to 1 micron, while the Pentek filters it down to. 5 micron, all at a flow rate of around 4 gpm, which is more than enough for our needs at home. Water is brought in from the street by a local city supply. Because the city water, while perfectly safe, does not feel or taste the best, I installed this multistage water filter system; now the showers are excellent, and the drinking water tastes fantastic. I haven't had to replace or renew the system yet. I recently ordered a second of this model Pentek cartridge to keep on hand in case the first plugs up. After three to four years of continuous use, the Whirlpool is expected to require media replacement. br>br>Last week, the seller sent me an item that was not the Pentek FolPlus- Carbon media with a high flow rate of 20BB. I ordered a whole-house 5 micron filter cartridge. I'm not sure what it is, but it doesn't look like the filter cartridge I'm currently using in my Pentek Big Blue 20BB filter canister, nor does it match the manufacturer's website's dimension specifications; it's way too small in diameter and won't fit. As a result, I have given this review a low rating. I'm going to make plans to return it today. Depending on how quickly and effectively the seller responds to my concerns, I will update this section of my review.

We have the worst water in the world, and this is a huge help! This does exactly what it says on the tin
5/5

Our drinking water is filthy to say the least. It has a foul odor and a foul appearance. I'm not going to drink it, cook with it, or give it to my pets. This filter aids in the absorption of some of the undesirable elements in our water. It's also what we use with the yarn-like filters. There is no longer any yucky odor or color. But I'm not going to drink it. There is no such thing as a filter that can keep everything out! The water system in this place needs to be completely redone. We do, however, rent.
