The scale (e.g. The smallest particle size that this filter will filter out is indicated by the number (5 microns). So a 20 micron filter will catch particles as small as 20 microns, but the 19 and 18 and 17, and so on micron - Particles of a certain size will pass right through it. In response to your question, the 5 micron filter will remove smaller particles.
Mexico
The filter's life is largely determined by the amount of particulate in the water and how much it is used. In my case, the filter is the first stage on a well on the California coast that needs to be replaced every other month or so. The intended use is for a two-person single-family home.
The shipping cost is $33 for the entire order of 1 to 12 items.

This filter does an excellent job of removing particulates from my dug well. I use a five micron filter up front to catch the larger particles, then two one micron filters in parallel to catch the smaller particles without obstructing the flow. Only two of them need to be changed. My well water levels fluctuate significantly throughout the year, churning up gunk three times a year. The taste of my water is fantastic.

This is a basic pleated paper cartridge with decent specifications - With a particle size of five microns, it will remove the majority (but not all) of pollutants and minerals from water. We do, however, have a lot of water pressure, which seemed to distort the filter and reduce its effectiveness quickly. I replaced it with a more expensive filter that incorporates both carbon and paper and is enclosed in a metal grid. This appears to be a better way of keeping the shape. As long as your pressure isn't too high, I believe this would suffice for a simple drinking water system if you don't have a major or chemical problem with your water source. It's always a good idea to double-check how many gallons each filter can handle. This will indicate how long it will be useful. You'll often find that a more expensive filter will handle far more gallons before wearing out or clogging, and that it will cost you less over its lifetime, as well as the fact that you won't have to change filters as frequently, which can be a pain.
This, however, is not the case. We have a water issue and must filter our water. My usual source is the store, but they were sold out. So, these appeared to be the same or even similar in price, which was a huge letdown. We were without water for three weeks. When my husband replaced it with a new one from the store, the entire filter had collapsed into itself.
It does exactly what it says it will, and it does a fantastic job of removing minerals and sediment. I also appreciate the fact that it is not a polypropaline-wound filter, as these tend to disintegrate over time and allow particles to wash downstream into your home in my experience. I'd tell others about it!.
Always a good product, and my water is of exceptional quality. br>I'm confident that my drinking water and my family's health are safe.
This appears to be a knock-off of a Pentek product. The Pentek paper was missing (as shown in the photo). It was not as effective as the Pentek filters.
The first time I tried this product, it wasn't level or flat, so I tried it again. I received a replacement from Amazon, but it was also defective. The pleats immediately came out of the filter when I placed it in its housing unit. We had to buy a new filter because the pleats unraveled so quickly.
