I'm not sure what a DuPont housing is, but this is a big 10" filter, not a small one that fits under the kitchen sink. This is a whole house filter; ours is housed in a large blue box in our basement and is connected to our entire house's incoming water line. You can figure out what size you'll need by measuring the opening of the housing.

If the item you bought doesn't have a Hydronix label or the Hydronix emboss on the end caps, it's most likely a fake. A proper water quality test and knowledge of the average number of gallons of water used in a month are required to answer this question. However, the average number of customers we serve in our local FL office change these out every month if used alone without any other filtration system components, and every three months if used to supplement a whole house system. Please keep in mind that well water in Florida and other southern states is notoriously tannic, sulfuric, and iron-bearing. In other words, as the water quality deteriorates and more water is consumed, these units will need to be replaced more frequently.

Fast delivery on a great replacement filter. The length of time you can use it is largely determined by the quality of the water you're using. The filter will last a month if the water coming into your house is filthy as hell. If it's in good condition, it'll last a long time. When the water pressure starts to drop, you know it's time to replace. It also means it did its job and kept all of the gunk out of your faucet filters, refrigerator filter, washing machine, boiler, and other similar devices.
I've been using this filter for a few years now. It works, and it gets rid of the odor in well water. For the past two months, I've been using the same filter. To be safe, I use it in conjunction with a water softener and an ultraviolet light that kills bacteria.
Excellent value for money and prompt shipping.
Filter replacement that is perfect!.
If the smell and partials were removed, it would be a five-star product.
