Is this filter compatible with both a ql2 and a ql3 head?

Hello, yes, the BH2 can be used with either head. Because it has a shut-off valve, we recommend the QL3 head.

How many gallons of water must be passed through a new filter before the water is safe to drink? I just put in a new one, and the water has an ashy odor to it. ?

I go by the clock and have heard anything between three and fifteen minutes. I put about 5 gallons of water through the machine. There has been no odor for the past 7 minutes.

Is it possible to bring this item on an international flight as checked baggage?

I'd check with the airline you're flying with, but instead of risking breaking the filter, I'd recommend having it shipped there.

The taste of water is disgusting. In a restaurant, I sampled water from this system, which was delicious. Then I put it in my house, and it tasted awful. I discovered that the ice in the restaurant water 'froze' my taste buds, preventing me from tasting anything; I would not recommend it. For the same amount of money, I bought a Waterdrop RO system and now have Evian-tasting water at home.

It's the shorter version, which is ideal if, like me, you keep your filters under a standard kitchen cabinet. For this application, the longer one is too long. However, keep in mind that with this shorter version, you'll need to replace it more frequently.

The filter is leaking

The filter is not working properly. I tried swapping out the O rings, but it didn't work. I'm not sure if it's because of this brand, but I've never had any issues with this type of filter from other Amazon stores. I was out of town for a long time and am now unable to return it due to the passage of time. I will not order this brand (Pentair) in the future.
