Will this replace the solenoid on my 12vdc fenner pump, model MF 4042? It appears to be very similar to the one I already have. ?

MF- is the part. The motor's SPX number is 4042, not the power unit's overall number. Given that this electric motor could have been used on a variety of power units for a variety of applications, I can't say with certainty whether the EF- Your unit uses a 1070 solenoid. If your solenoid looks exactly like the one in the picture, it's most likely the same one.
