That's correct. The strainer's top connection comes to a halt just inside the strainer's interior. If there is any air in the system, the pump will not take a suction, so the Strainer must be completely submerged.

Normally, I try to write reviews that are both entertaining and informative, but when things are simply too functional - I'm getting them on someone else's request - It's a challenging situation. I inquire about how it works and the product's quality, and I write reviews like the one below, which are completely accurate despite the fact that I have no idea what I'm talking about. br>br>All right, let's get started. There is such a thing as this. It looks and functions exactly as it should, and it arrived quickly and safely. If you're looking for something similar, this is the place to go! However, keep in mind that these items come in a variety of sizes, so double-check your measurements to make sure you're getting the right fit.
The thread type isn't specified in the description, but it says 1 1/2 inch strainer. I had no idea how large this item was going to be, but it turned out to be enormous. I guess I was expecting a strainer with a diameter of 1 1/2 inch and a threaded top with a diameter of 1 1/2 inch. For my pumping setup, I'll need to purchase a reducer to fit a standard hose connection. I suppose it pays sometimes to shop at a local store where you can see exactly what you're getting. My Bad!.
Okay, I'll admit that I'm blown away. It was much larger and better than I had anticipated. Threads on the pipe are standard, allowing a nipple to be used for hose attachment. This adds even more weight to the hose, ensuring that it stays in place at the bottom. It's a small thing, but it's one of my favorites.
Heavy-duty and well-constructed.
Despite its low price, it is solidly constructed with relatively heavy gauge steel and is large enough to work in mud and gravel. This isn't a toy or a tool for gardening.
Heavy-duty construction. It does exactly what it says it will. The 1 1/2 in female was easily screwed on.
It was exactly what was advertised, and it was of good quality.
