Questions & Answers
They are authentic 3M filters, to be sure. I've never received anything from Amazon that was "fake."
I received 600s in my package.
Depends. When air passes through the filter, it usually bows slightly, and this bowing becomes more pronounced as the filter clogs up over time. It should not bow when it is new and there is no air movement, as this would indicate that it does not fit. When mine bows like that, it's because it got caught on a screwhead, and I straighten it out by shoehorning it over the head with the end of a crowbar. Bowing will not affect performance if it doesn't fit perfectly, as long as the four edges have a good seal.

Filtrete 20x30x1, MPR 600, AC Furnace Air Filter, 6-Pack Pack: I've used these air filters before, so I was surprised to see so many negative reviews, especially about how flimsy the frame is and how small the sizes are. I haven't had any issues with either because they fit perfectly and are rigid enough to withstand bending or being sucked inward, causing gaps on the edges. I am the mother of a fourteen-year-old daughter. old, 4- Trane heat pump with a capacity of one ton. I thought that using an air filter with a MPR rating of 1000 would be better because it would filter more impurities from the air. While this is true, I discovered the hard way that a heat pump is not designed to clean the air. My heat pump eventually failed and started blowing hot air a few months later. According to the repairman, an air filter with an MPR greater than 600 does not allow enough air to flow through my heat pump, which could have contributed to the condenser unit breaking down. The MPR rating indicates how much air flow is restricted to your AC unit. LEARNED LESSON: In my case, using an air filter with a MPR of 600 or less is the solution. If you're still worried about allergens, here's what you should do. Purchase an air purifier on its own - Also, if your air conditioner isn't getting enough air, it won't work properly. These Filtrete air filters are a great value and fit perfectly (the exact dimensions are advertised and on the box). They are also sturdy enough to withstand bending. Don't pay attention to the negative feedback - I'm a 5- I've been a customer for over a year and have always been pleased with the air filters. Despite the negative feedback, I rate these air filters as FIVE STARS.
When I received them, I noticed that the frames were not as sturdy as the ones I usually buy, and that the filter mesh was too tight. When the frame is installed, it appears to bend, allowing air to leak around the edges. The returns began to whistle as a result of this. I then used duct tape to try to fill in the gaps. As a result, the HVAC had to work harder to pull air through the filters, resulting in a high-pitched whining noise so loud that we had to turn up the TV volume to hear what was being said. All of the noises went away after we went out and bought our regular Filtrete filters from Home Depot (the ones with the red package label). I'm now stuck with five of the worst filters I'll never use! It was a waste of money!.
For "high velocity," use a forced-air system. Any tighter than 600 restricts airflow and performance, puts too much strain on the fan, and wastes too much energy in air systems like mine (according to the manual). Even 600 doesn't blow through fiberglass like it used to, and it clogs up more quickly, requiring replacement every two months. However, I have been satisfied with a six-month compromise. The Amazon Warehouse damage was worse than expected, but not to the point where it rendered the service unusable, so it was well worth the savings.
My furnace wasn't cycling properly, according to the furnace repairman, because I was using a filter that was too dense. I was using a more expensive Filtrete that was advertised as being able to remove any and all contaminants. Regrettably, it also eliminated the best possible airflow. There's no better way to get these than to order a box of six and have them delivered right to your door. I always have a spare on hand, so I can switch as soon as one becomes dirty. Last year, Amazon had a lower price for these.
I was disappointed that three of the six filters I received were crushed, but I decided to use them anyway because I needed them. However, when I received it, I was dissatisfied with the way the box was crushed, as well as the filters inside.
Flimsy. The cardboard frame has been half-cut. The frame is made of cardboard, and it is quite flimsy. There is no support on the backside of the filter to prevent it from being pulled in. I had high hopes for 3M. I won't be buying anything else.
Every one of the filters in my 6-pack The filter material of the pack had multiple voids - sections with no filter material, allowing unrestricted airflow filtered. They're also flimsy as well as floppy. I don't think they'd be able to keep their cool under duress. Though, given the lower pressure created by air flowing freely through the voids, they might just stay put! br>br>I'm a huge fan of 3M products in general. This isn't one of them, by the way.
3M's manufacturing process or source of manufacture must have changed. br>The media has areas where there is almost no material, resulting in NO filtration. br>It was a complete waste of money. I've seen these filters in stores, and the quality is noticeably different. br>It appears that the marketing strategy is to dump garbage on online buyers. You got me once, but you're not going to get me again.
